Can anyone reccomend a clutch and plate. I have a tko 600 with a 600 hp small block with 168tooth flywheel. I would like a heavy duty application without a lot of chatter. I was considering mcleods 12" shown in this months chevy high perf. I had also purchased the lakwood 15000 bellhousing but am reading that the mcleod is a better choice. I can use some opinions.

McLeod's 12" diaphram clutch is the ticket. I have been using this clutch for the last 3 years in my '70 Chevelle. She never slipped or chattered behind my ZZ502/502.

I'll second the McLeod 12" dual performance clutch and pressure plate.

The 600 hp motor specified in my original post is being built as we write. I am considering going high compression on the motor considering how limited it is driven. I am expecting to see numbers at around the 700-750 mark. Would you still reccomend the same set up or should I go with a dual disk set up from ram. Have you seen this hp used with the tko 600? Thanks for the help.

At that HP go to the McLeod Street Twin clutch set.

Thanks for the info. Do you think the trans will hold up to that power level?

Tremec rates the TKO at 600 ft lbs. With that said, I have not heard of one of the new TKO's breaking yet and I know there are guys out there running more than 600 ft lbs.
Eventually someone will break one.

If you have wheel hop, you will break any transmission. We have learned that this is the number 1 transmission killer.
