turbo 6.0 exhaust tone

I'm trying to plan a step or 2 ahead on my 71 Monte Carlo build.
I'm just wondering what guys are running for mufflers on their turbo cars.
I'm assuming because the turbo baffles a portion of the exhaust note, you can go with a more free flowing muffler and not sweat an ultra loud tone.
hell, 95% of turbo motorcycle I've ever seen just runs a short dump pipe and they aren't offensive at all.

Turbo 6.0 with LS6 cam, ran a single 3.5 with a 3.5 inlet/oulet Magnaflow muffler, 6" Round version. Very nice tone, pretty quiet on the freeway. Tried it without a muffler first and it had too much drone, even with the tailpipe exiting behind the right rear tire. Make sure the muffler is straight through. NO FLOWMASTERS.

I've heard the "No Flowmaster" muffler thing too on turbo motors. Something about lossing HP..:rolleyes:

I run side pipes, but essentially they are straight thru 3" glasspacks with the outside skined off to slide inside. Didn't like what everyone had to offer for inserts. I like the sound. Not extremely loud,(middle of the road) but you aren't going to drive thru a quite area without being noticed. lol :evil:
