My exhaust exits out back and I am thinking of cutting it off behind the mufflers and in front of the rear end. Will this cause heat or fume issues in the cabin?

What make of muffler are you running ? I run 3" pipe to super 40 series flowmasters, I tried dumping the exhaust at the mufflers it was fun for about 20 minutes, I set off car alarms, rattled windows and got a headache ! On long trip this gets old real fast ! If your going to do this put some turn downs on it and make sure seal all the holes in the floor !

Tailpipes are your friends.

My mufflers are not that loud and don't plan on any long trips. When the new Tri-ys come in I will see how things line up. Thanks

Here is a shot of my exhaust. The turn downs exit just in front of the rear axle. I don't have any mufflers but I'm running two of the Afco auger style baffles in each pipe. I have no idea how loud it will be but I have room inside the pipes for four more baffles if needed.

Sweet setup Steve!
We'll see once I get it running. It may be sweet or it may be a total bust. Just don't know yet. One thing for sure, it is simple. At least I have some adjustability with the room to add more baffles.

Well the Tri-ys arrived and they are 3" higher but also 3" shorter than the long tubes were. The existing exhaust will not mate so I will cut off behind the mufflers and use turn downs. I can always have the tail pipes put back on if needed later.

Best of both worlds. Mine is the first pic.

I daily drive my car with dumps with pypes violator mufflers. And I mean daily drive not like how other people say they do, but only drive it a couple of times a week. It's not that bad and I don't notice any fumes. I go on a 200mile trip with it every couple of months. I like how loud it is at WOT with dumps, probably has to do with my mufflers too though. As for heat I don't know or at least its not bad enough for me to notice.

i have my exhaust dumped in front of the axle and it does let fumes into the rear probably through the trunk where the fuel cell opening is, i'll be installing tail pipes soon as i don't wnat my 3yr old to breath that.
