I am curious how many have bought salvage vehicles for parts for their projects. I am debating doing this as I plan to get a lot of parts from one model of vehicle for mine.
Did you keep or sell the rest when you were done with it?

I have in the past, will probably do again.
Sell the rest and offset the cost of the past you want, if you're real clever you parts will be free :)

Do it all the time... Really depends on what you are building. You didn't say but I've done this with quite a few different builds. Monte's, Nova's, '49 F1 pickup, Astro's, etc.
I have a donor 'Stro sitting in the driveway right now. I've stripped it for the dash, O.H. Console and bracket, column, pedals, hydroboost, powered doors, harnesses, interior panels and a TON of bits and pieces... Best bang for your buck when you know you will use a lot of it. I have a friend haul it away when I am done with the carcass.

The one I was looking at was a bit more expensive even in salvage form, a C5 or C6 corvette for the suspension, engine, and if manual transmission, brakes, and abs. I was looking and in an auto for the rest of the driveline you could get over 1.2k, and the body panels would also sell that are in good shape. If nothing else I would have a corvette tub around for a race car later still with a VIN.
