The question was asked in another thread on why we spend the money on this sport.
I cant speak for anyone else but for me its more of a therapy thing. If im not wrenching on something I'm a real ass to be around. I do it on the extreme side of cheap. I find cruising the 7 local Pick-A-Parts one of the best things I can do on any day.
I dont do it for the thoughts of reselling my stuff. I have heard some people saying they are building to make a profit but I cant see selling something customized to a personal level making any money. I helped a friend get part of a private collection ready for auction a couple years ago and out of the 90 cars he auctioned there were only a few cars that sold for what he thought was a fair price, and those were a few BMW X5 with less than 100 miles, a twin turbo MB and one of the BMW Z8. Glen gets his jollies by taking numbers matching cars and making them as good as he can by throwing a LARGE amount of cash to guys who are the best around.

The one I wanted to smuggle home was the Z16 Chevelle I had taken apart to do a complete detail.

So I guess its a different reason for everyone.
And by looking through the Project Update section there are a wide variety of cars and builds going on and its fantastic to see all levels of skills and cars out there. Not only are the builds great but the back stories that go with them. The families involved are nice too!
