56133I like to bring fellow AMC lover together ,on the pro-Touring trend, Together on 1 page ,and the same page ,
with that outside the box thinking of why the pro trend should include the ugly duckling , red headed step child of the car world ,
I wish to see us get 3 - to a 4 page spread in a magazine one day instead a 3 paragraph or a brief description of the car .then they move on to a Camaro / Chevy ,
let us speak our ming connect link and creat link to show wich amc is beating the chevy and mustang out there .
1: question what would the chrysler designers do with the Javelin now ? hummmmmmm

Colorado AMX built a super nice '73 Javelin.

is it me is everybody who do the javelin feel that they should interrupt the lines of the car , and refuse to feel in the wheel weld with massive meat to create a meaner stance

I'm not sure that I understand what you're getting at here. I'll give you that the ColoradoAMX build could stand to have wider tires. At both ends, since the flares are already present. But I wouldn't exactly consider the car to have an appearance that clashes with itself or is otherwise "out of proportion". Seriously, what it it that you're seeing that I'm not?

Stock - as in 1970's stock - handling is a rather poor goal to intentionally aim for, especially if you're going to pitch the car as "Pro-Touring" where chassis development means more than just keeping the rear axle under control and pointed toward the mph traps.

A "Pro-Street" build would be something else entirely, and I'm not at all sure what it would take to make such an effort stand out from the typical Chevelle/Nova street/strip build other than its "not-another-belly-button" origin.

↑↑↑ I'm not flaming anybody or anything here, so don't get the wrong idea. A friend of mine had a 360-powered Javelin/AMX back in the very early 1970's (I think it might have been a Mark Donohue Edition), and I always did think AMC managed to put out a neat car that never got the attention it deserved.

You might be interested in Ron Schwarz's current AMX build, also in this forum. The other neat AMC muscle.

The problem with the 2nd gen Javelin/AMX body, is that it has HUGE wheelwells. The front fender and rear quarter are so bulged that you have to have a very big tire to fill it out, otherwise the car looks squirrley. Many guys do not get the stance and tire/wheel combination right. The link to my website and the pictures I have posted there don't really show the tires, but they are plenty big...

Hi
I'd like to learn more about this car. I have a 1st gen Javelin, and this is one of the few Javelins I've seen that actually sits right and looks like I want mine to look. Is this just a mock-up, or does this car actually have suspension under it? If so, what is it? Those wheels Forgelines? What's the wheel ane tire combo?
Thanks, Mo

The car above was for Sale a while back as an "Unfinished" Project with an Aston Martin Chassic and powerplant that I'm aware of. Make's perfect sense if it was an Aston Martin Experimental which works with the title.... AMX!!

57970 I am trying to reach out to martz chassis to get him to pull the blue print for this chassis for the javelin , with a much support from the amc community , I think he would , so please go to his web site and request a response , and create a demand , I think between this rear set up and the control freak front suspension , the javelin be a force to recon with .57971

its funny to me these shop just want to cater to big money .no hesitation about saying 200 k for a build, take 30 year to pay off a mortgage that size for some people / most of us , how do you justify it on a car build , in 2 years. Thank god for garage SQUAD!!!!!
no more low budget build for them ,that got them to where they are,
the DIY FELLOW CAR GUY ,let do it , and get back to the real social network , friends and a good eat and cool drink , whatever ever float your boat cool aid or beer .nothing more cool then to hear those famous word daddy can I help you ,

Man fill those wheel wells! we managed 345/30/18's on our 73 AMC Hornet X with only doing a mini tub on the inner wheel wells. And the Control Freaks suspension your going to appreciate how well your car will perform with it. Willing to bet you could pull off 18/20" combo on your Javelin and look just like your concept drawing. We are running 17/18" on the Hornet.
