Trying to eliminate the small triangle window in the doors and have a solid window like the 68 Camaro. Anyone know if this is an easy swap? The little widows don't seal well and are super noisy on the freeway. Hoping to just get some 68 windows and swap. Any ideas or thoughts? Thanks in advance!

You will have to change to 68 doors. This is not easy to do because the hinges between the two years are different.

It is a very tough swap. The hinges are an issue as mentioned. I have seen somone gut a 67 door and get 68 glass to work in it, but it was very involved. Learn to love your vent windows.

Not easy, not cheap. The easy way to do this swap is to swap your 67 for a 68. If you have parts you have bought for the 67 almost everything should transfer over to a 68 with no problems.

Neither do my 68 windows. I regret all the sound dampening and proofing I did given how poorly the 68 windows seal on my car. I've tried 3 different brands of weatherstrip and have replaced the regulator, etc and it still drives me nuts.

I am about to try the 67 to 68 door swap. Does anyone have any good news, or pointers? Has anyone used 68 guts in a 67 door?

Thanks!

Vent windows are too classy to remove IMO.

The vent windows ad some function you cant get without them.... Im with Scott..keepem! If you do decide to do it, the easiest way is to change to 68 doors. Gonna take some work to get the hinges to swap over!

This is what I did.

I swapped the guts from a 68 to my 67 doors, not easy and very frustrating trying to align everything, you are gonna have to buy 68 or 69 window regulators. I switched to power windows so I bought 68 Camaro regulators, so buying different regulators was not an extra cost, just part of the budget. You are also going to need the 68 or 69 glass guide rails, sach and channels. You will have to make new track mounting points to fit inside and cut away the old glass stop at the bottom of the door. I bought used glass in mint condition cheap in case I broke it while trying to figure out the swap. A lot of knuckle busting and finger smashing involved.

If I were to do it again I would have tried using 2 "old/used" complete 68 Camaro doors and cut out the inner door shell structure that holds all the inner guts together and transplant it onto the 67 door frame. You will avoid making all the headaches, some other people change out the entire door but you will have to figure out your hinges since they are totally different. No matter what you do you are in for some extensive work, try to live with them if you can. Only reason I did it was because I did not like how the car glass looked so broken up on such a small car. You can also check to see if aftermarket doors have provisions for eighter glass?? I doubt it but its worth the research. Anyways, my $0.2.

Good luck on whatever you decide bud.

Charles, any chance you still have some of the 67 front window track parts? I'm currently building a 67 and a couple of the parts are missing or broken. --Eric

I do. I have all the guts. glass. tracks. hardware. vent windows. Pretty much everything for both doors.

What exactly do you need. Maybe trade?
