Can anyone recommend the best aftermarket brake pads? I am looking at minimum dusting and best braking ability, or recommend a corvette forum where i should ask this?

Not specific to C5 but on my C4 setup I use Hawk HP plus. Great braking, minimal dust.

Porterfield (http://www.porterfield-brakes.com/) You'd be lookin for the "R4-S" compound. Outstanding pad IMO..... and I am saying that not just because I was in on the developement of them, I have used them in just about everything I own and have built.

Not very dusty, very little noise, no accelerated rotor wear and they require almost no warm up. I used them on the OE four-piston set-up, the 12 and 13" PBR and quite a few other calipers and the breaking was phenom. A very good choice for a hard driven street car.....

The Hawk pad would be my second choice.... and it too is a great street pad, but it doesnt have the modulation of Andy's R4-S.

Cody, you are a cheap ass...you spend a lot to make your car look that great and start to moan like a little girl when it comes to spending a bit on safety (and less wheel cleaning) :screwy: :hand: :poke:

stop nagging and finish it properly.....

sorry, i think i will be 4 sets of HAWK pads, if i wasn't worried about safety i wouldn't of went with the C5 brakes in front and LS1's in the rear with hydroboost. Hawk it is! I still can't believe they want $200 for a set of front brake pads, maybe all 4 but just the front!!
