I got to meet and hang out with Mark Mutert and his brother at Goodguys Columbus. The parking lot at the host hotel serves as an impromptu car show after a long day at the fairgrounds. They built the entire car themselves including paint and upholstery. The car attracted lots of attention so I'm nagging him to post some pix.

Time to show off the big secret: Slick, black body, clean interior, budniks and engine compartment please.

Thanks Steve. I'll try to get some pics really soon.

I really wasn't trying to keep it a secret, just to busy or didn't want to take the time to post build pics, :geek: .

It's my idea of "retro-touring" sorta original looking, but obviously pro-touring.

Frame off, new everything.

Full roller 383, T-56. Car originally had a 3 speed on the tree, so since I had the pedals, I kept it manual.

Car had a bench, but I found some stock buckets, and had them covered in ultra leather. I also added dense foam to the bolsters, so they actually support very well.

13" C4 rotor and caliper. LT1 camaro rear calilpers and rotors.

Hotchkis rear springs with a 1" block. 550 lb. springs front. Hotckis sway bar. Bilstien shocks. Guldstrand mod.

18" Budnik gassers. Polished hoop, satin center. 18x7 front with 4.75" bs and a 235/40 18. 18x8 rear with 5.5" bs and a 275/45 18. Nitto 555.

Anything else, just ask.

Hey Mark I saw your Nova in Des Moines, It is an awsome car, very well done. Are you from Iowa? I'm just north of D.M. about 25 miles. Let me know, I'd like to get together with you, Steve and Jabin sometime. Again, killer car. I've got a soft spot for Nova's, had a 72' many years ago. Take care, Trond

Super clean car !
My last car/project was a pro-street 72 Nova.

One question......
Are your valve covers powdercoated or painted ?
I was thinking about going the black engine bay / bright silver motor route , and was thinking about powdercoating , or maybe even cermaic coating.

once again , very sweet ride........

Man, that thing is nice! Kinda reminds me of a '69 Chevelle i've been wanting to build, low, mean, and black.

Congrats Mark.. the prize will be in the mail!!

Nice Nova, Mark. I wish I could talk my hard-headed cousin into Pro-Touring his '72. Your wheels and stance would look killer on his car.

Anyone care to take a stab at some photo shopping?

I get cha, :smoke: .

I doubt it, but I might change my mind. Just not a big fan of that show for some reason. I might go to the Hot Rod show in Springfield IL. towards the end of August. It's new, and only about 2 hours from me, so maybe it'll be worthwhile. But if it's as hot as it is now, then, I'll be staying at home, :crying: .
