I am getting ready to order some 1/2 stainless line from McMaster-Carr and was wondering if you guys were going with the .028 or .035 wall stuff? I just want to make sure I can flare this stuff when it comes time.

I use .035" all the time. Got a good bender?
make sure you are on the seamless page.....I've made that mistake before

Yup, got a buddy who is going to let me borrow his 1/2 Rigid bender. This is what i am looking at http://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-metal-tubing/=g9mdf5 , smooth bore stainless seamless

I use .035, and I bend it with a Ridgid bender. .028 has more danger of collapsing when you bend it. Eat your Wheaties before starting, but it's doable. I bent some 5/8 SS .035 just the other day. Once you get the bend going, you're good.
Just a thought: if this is for fuel line, I prefer aluminum these days. Easier to bend and flare, it's lighter, and it seals better.

John, it is for fuel line. Funny you should bring up aluminum. I changed my mind and ordered up some 5052-0 seamless annealed line with a .035 wall a few minutes ago. Just think it will be a lot less headaches and I can do it with the tools I have.
