Any one know anything about these welders? The local farm supply places in town sell them. I'm looking at their 115v unit. I'm just a hobbyist on a budget and want something that will last a while and handle my minor needs. I'd search for used but CL is basically useless over here.

Thanks

With the current welding technology getting as good and cheap as it has in recent years, I would honestly just look into a new Miller or Thermal Arc unit. A quality 220 MIG can be had for 800-1000 bucks. With a used unit, you are getting outdated welding equipment that may break or need replacement parts, once all that has been added up, especially if it is something goofy like the gun, you would have been better off buying new.

True but I think I wasn't clear. The Hot Max welders are new and only cost ~$400. I would consider a used Miller or Lincoln as an alternative. I can't justify a $800-$1000 welder at this point. I just don't want to be wasting my money on a Hot Max if they were no good. I had never heard of them so I thought I would ask.

Thanks
