I'm aware of the GW and DSE setups for the rear and the HRTH truck-arm thing. But what other options are there? Anything really groundbreaking, or effective and simple?

Leafs?

Truck-arm?

Other?

There are various manufacturers of leaf springs, DSE just realeased a new 4-link, there is the truck-arm, AME has a 4 bar rear suspension, Wayne Due sells an IRS kit and there is a really ground-breaking 3-link kit coming out in the next few months.

Go to DSE site in the news section. Theres a brief discription there with a computer animated picture. Looks very similar to the rear suspension used on the Mule.

In the latest Super Chevy mag there was a article on the new Fat Man Fabrication rear coil over setup for '67-'68 Camaro. Can anybody enlighten us further on this rear setup?

I was reading up on the new DSE 4 link. Does anyone know pricing on this yet?

Any follow up info on the DSE or the mystery 3-link?

I saw the DSE price somewhere and I think it was $1395. Mean69 is working on the 3 link but won't release anything until it hits the market which I think is SEMA if I am not mistaken. AIR RIDE also has a kit as well. Unique Performance has a wild setup that is overrated and overpriced. 21st Century Street Maachines has one as well. Is that enough options?

21st Century is coming out with an IRS and a 4-link system.. DSE's looked pretty good when I saw it in Columbus..

I think Morrison makes something and Wayne Due as I recall..

When it comes to choices 1st gen fbods are pretty cool :)

edit.. just saw Musclerodz post.. DOH!

Sure would be nice to know what works and what dosen't. I don't have the coin to experiment.

Are you looking for a show stopper or something that's just plain fast? The Hyperco composite leaf springs, a set of digressive valved Bilsteins and rear bar are very effective, usually without the need for extra traction devices. But it might not be pretty enough for some. Peace

Fast. With a ride quality that is tolerable. I'm not expecting it to ride like an M3, but I don't want a 125 shifter cart either.

Id like the car to look more like a race car than a show car.

A bit more info on the setup you mentioned would be appreciated.

The DSE 4 link is the same basic setup under the MULE and ride quality on it from people that have rode in it say it is excellent

It (the DSE system) is on my list of systems to take a closer look at. Id like to have a better idea of the structural integrity of the mounting points and what kind of fabrication/welding is required for installation.

As far as 21st Century http://www.21stcenturymusclecars.com/home.asp I can't find anything on their site.
Is it and the AM system still in the vapor-ware stage?

All I'll say is that if you can hang on until SEMA, you should. Lateral Dynamic's 3-Link, among other products, will be on display in booth number 52421 if you come to the show.

Actually thats the cool part, the composite springs have a really smooth ride quality because of the reduction in interleaf friction and the ability to absorb harmonics. The newest mount design is real nice and rigid and doesn't require a PHB or watts link like some designs do. And what can I say about Bilstein digressives, they are nice and silky smooth. I'll be talking to the guys at Bilstein next week to see if they are shipping their new double adjustable shafts and digressive pistons that can also be retrofitted into their previous 46mm models. We use Hypercos on dirt track cars and it is just amazing how much forward bite they have, and a rough dirt track is absolutely brutal! The springs are about $300 a pair and shocks start at under $100 each. This is for sure the way to go on a budget and I'm not sure what what improvement could be had with a "engineering exercise" type suspension, if any at all, but the bang for the buck of this system just cannot be matched! If you need any more info or help getting a shock package together let me know.
