Am not looking for a free handout but have a bracket I would like to get cut. To take to a local shop and have it done I'd be looking at $150 or better due to setup charges of course. Didn't know if anybody here did laser cutting that could help me out on $$. I have a DXF file. Bracket is roughly 12"x6" and can be made out of .062 to .090 alum or SS. Just need one.

Shoot me a PM
Thanks

I had a guy I was using but have not been getting replies to my phone calls or emails. He did an awesome job and turn around was quick. Don't know what happened. I've got a bunch of stuff I need cut so if you find something, let me know. Thanks.

We could combine our files into one. That could make things a bit cheaper. I used to get stuff cut from Adam (Camaroboy69) on the forum. He used to post a bunch then dropped off the earth a few yrs ago.

There's a company called Great Lakes Waterjet that does small runs and one off parts on a regular basis. Might want to give them a try.

No worries Vince, thanks for quoting me out. I haven't found anybody local so may have to deal with the shipping. The difficulty comes if I need something with a quick turn-around, then shipping will kill. Thanks again.

I'll be able to get stuff out quicker as we get into our new place. So far its a one man show. I can stuff a bunch in a flat rate box.

Love those boxes. Actually, the expensive part for me comes when I need to have a few parts cut and in my hands within a day or two. That's the expensive shipping part I was referring too. Stuff in advance is no worries, it's the stuff I don't have measurements for yet...

if it's that critical and you need it that fast, then just make it by hand with a drill press and a band saw..

Have you heard of TechShop? http://techshop.ws/

TechShop is a membership-based workshop that provides members with access to tools and equipment, instruction, and a community of creative and supportive people so they can build the things they have always wanted to make.

if the laser at work was operational- and if i had been trained in how to operate it yet- i'd be able to do it for free using metal from the scrap bin after work..
but the laser is down and they haven't trained me in on it yet..
