After calling around I took 44 pieces of aluminum (representing months of work!) to the anodizer today.

When I got there, the front office girl me told my front air dam wouldn't fit in their tanks. I was actually considering leaving all the rest of parts there (did I mention she was gorgeous?!) and powdercoating the air dam. Eventually reason prevailed and she sent me to another place that dealt in bigger parts.

The other anodizer's front office person was an older guy in serious need of dental work. Sigh. Anyway, they told me all the stuff would be ready Thursday. Can't wait!

ps. Now I need to find some some other (small) stuff that needs anodizing.

^^^ agreed

That's qutie a lot of parts to get anodized. When I worked for my father (aircraft repair) we used to do all of the acid etching and anodizing by hand...no tank. Needless to say it took a while!

I would have left all the other parts there so I could go back and hit on the girl!

JP,

Take some small parts back there, along with your digicam. Take some pics of the office, and of HER, --just tell her it's for your "scrapbook" for the car's buildup.

JP congrats on finding a place big enough to anodize everything. Also congrats on all the hard work with the car so far. Everyhing you have done has inspired many of us oh this site. I look forward to all of the pics.

Adam: Thanks very much. Pics coming ... and watch for October's PHR.

I have found some more parts that need anodizing: Optima battery holder (a DSE piece), some small pieces for my emergency cable, and 2 air dam braces. They don't need to match the other stuff ...

I went to pick up the parts today ... and the color was

purple. I wanted gray. They blamed my fuel tank for causing the other parts to stay in the dye too long while they emptied the chemicals out of it.

Not good. They are re-doing them and promised they'd be done Friday. The guys who did the actual work were very apologetic about the color: they knew I wouldn't like it. Even though the manager told me Monday, they told me to call tomorrow and ask for one of them, and they'd get it done for me.
