I don't know that I would call it a street rod, I would go with street machine......all labeling aside it is a very nice car worthy of the award!

The Mustang and the Challenger were the only pro-touring cars.. maybe the black Camaro..

I did not care for the yellow Camaro and I love Pickfords car but it is more of a street rod version of a muscle car than a pro-touring car.. the thing is a work of art.

The black mustang R was my fav though.. the one I wanted to take home with me.. the Challenger had the most bad ass engine..

Choices...

I want to see some pics of the challenger......
I agree pigford took a street rod approach to building his nova, but when I think street rod I think NSRA ( :machine: NSRA)

The Challenger handles great since it has a complet Morrison subframe.. and it fits the standard definition of a pro-touring car.. or are gonna start getting all "you know" about definitions again? :)

Here is the scale...

Pro-Touring------------------------------------------------Pro-Street
................^.............^...
...........mustang....Challenger

So the Mustang is pretty much pure pro-touring (even though it has air bags?) and the Challenger is a bit more tword pro-street but still well on pt side.. TwinSting would be even a bit more tword pro-street (since it is an EVOLVED form of pro-street)..

Pickfords car is a street machine/ work of art..

This is all just my opinion.. lets not make the definition of pro-touring so presise that nobody fits it..

THat is why I hate labels, all cars in question are exceptional peices of equipment label or no label killer cars

Red and yellow cars are the fastest, though.

A red '69 won the year one cup, it was there, but didn't get a top 5.

Didn't anyone else see the yellow 57 (i think) vette ...the Z06 stuff all over it. It wasn't black or silver( per rule book) but I think of it as being PT.
Wonder why it wasn't in the running for SMotY?

Anybody know what by what criteria these cars are judged on ?

Work hrs, craftsmanship, theme/ideas, or what?

Here are some pics of the black stang I found at another site, its good to see early Mustangs getting close to the top, especially when they are Pro-Touring. IMO, 67-70 Mustang fastbacks have the best body curves of any muscle car, especially in black.
