I was invited to attend a test and tune event with JCG Restoration for the recently built 68 Camaro known as "Blu-Balz" Mary and Dave Pozzi were on hand along with several other crew members to help tune Cris Gonzo's creation.
Thanks for inviting me and the Fab53 Camaro.
So, this is the story in short form. Testing and tuning means nothing UNLESS you have the right crew with experience to understand and communicate what is needed for a car to get quicker... and/or fine tuned.
These two videos are partial documentation and evidence of the hard work put into such a fine machine as JCG's 68 Camaro Blu-Balz. In the first video, which is earlier in the day, I was able to keep BB close in my GoPro sights with minimal struggles.

But, in the second video, which is later in the day, you will see that it became harder for me to keep a close shot of BB. She was able to pull away with ease. The car became faster and Mary became more comfortable with what she could do with it. This is a true testament to what a great driver, Mary Possi, a great crew, Dave Possi Cris Gonzo and team can do with a pro-touring machine.
Enjoy. And Cris.... I have more shots that I will send to you directly.
Thanks again for a great day out with a fun bunch of people.

What a wonderful Video...
What a great Autocross Track..
Mary, is there an event in the Bay Area that has a course like that ???
Pleasanton seems so small compared to this Airport type track.
That is where I want to go.. A track like the video..
Man was Mary Fast.....Like the Video got sped up, she just pulled away...

American AutoX in Marina is the place to be around here. They are bigger layouts made for bigger cars. Next event is March 3-4.

While the Camaro was good, it wasn't great when we started that morning. In fact, I think my first comments after coming off course were things like "It's awesome if you like driving dump trucks." and "This thing pushed like a mo-fo." We changed things and adjusted settings ... and lo and behold the Camaro stopped being like that proverbial 14-year old teenager that just says no and become a very willing partner.
There's still more to do and what a cool car. Someone asked about the course and it was very basic. A slalom started and ended it while the middle area was a "pick your own course." You could go around the perimeter making a rectangle, cut inside the center and do figure-eights, treat it like an hourglass weaving in and then out of the center gates, or do variations of these.

AAS is the best autocross venue for "our kind" of cars. Hope to see you down there that weekend.

Thank you. It looks like what I am looking for ..Higher speeds and no concrete.. Pleasanton seems like a tight track, and has Concrete close by..
This total rookie is going to be so happy to come out and meet you , and to just legally beat my car... Marina seems as close as Sacramento to me, so I am looking forward to losing to you soon..

Thanks...
What did you think I would say ?...... "Looking forward to racing you "...
Please, this rookie watched the video several times. I was sideways in my mind , just trying to keep in your rear view mirror...

Here is the first video I have uploaded of the place. The wind noise from the camera is atrocious, but you get an idea of the course and how its laid out.

Thanks for all your help yesterday, James. Had a blast and what a cool site. Only change I'd make was to ditch those pesky yellow painted Chevrons on the runway as they played havoc with traction.

So I saw this picture and I had to laugh, Mary put Cris to work, but in the end the results were un-deniable, the car is dialed in!

Very cool video. This is my favorite first gen. Mary does a great job of being just inches from the cones when she drives. Thanks for posting. Eric

James, it was great meeting you in person. That ride along was awsome. thanks. I have a complimenting video of you man handling your car through the slalom from the outside of the car. I will post to my youtube page. You could edit it together with the one above for a pretty cool little clip.

This past weekend we took the Camaro to it's first Auto-X event.. Here are some action shots of the car on the track with Mary Pozzi @ the wheel & even got Brian Hobaugh some seat time .. Their input on the car has me making adjustments to get her ready for RTTC.. Mary will be driving the Camaro!
