So I have been hounding Edelbrock to make a crate engine like this for about 1 year and they finally did! I don't know the pricing on it yet, but I assume it will be VERY reasonable compared to other alternatives...

I looked but couldn't find the crate engine, just the universal application supercharger. Where was it?

Yeah, it actually starts at $19k, but I think Edelbrock missed the boat on the price. I tried to tell them if they "Walmart" priced it with a lower profit margin and made their money on quantity sold this would have Dominated the pro-touring market. But at that price they will be lucky to sell many, when for the same price you can buy a Mast or Wegner SCed 416LS. I told them to keep it below $15k but they did not.

Seems way to high...you could duplicate that for about 15k...the warranty is nice though

In their defense, the one for over $22,000 does include the complete harness, front drive accessories, ignition, etc. You are also paying for a 2-year warranty. With that said, that's a lot of money for what could be built cheaper using a 2.9L Whipple that is able to support more power, given the size of the engine. We are completing our turn-key engine section right now, and we will have some offerings that do include a 2.9L Whipple supercharger. However, our package that is close to this price range will include a 6-bolt GMPP LSx engine block and PRC 6-bolt cylinder heads, and it will produce over 800 flywheel HP with all of the streetability you could ever want! Just playing devil's advocate. :)

You might want at that price, but it is rather expensive to build a supercharged engine. I made better torque than engine on my Harrop TVS2300 with LS 416, but it wasn't cheap. Engine is an L92/LS3 block, Crower Maxi Light Crank 4" stroke, Crower Maxi Light billet rods, Katech Piston Squirters, Livernois L92 CNC Stage 3 cylinder head, Comp Cams hydraulic roller, Champ Oil pan, Melling oil pump, Wegner Motorsports pulley setup for the Harrop, Harrop HTV 2300 Supercharger, Ross Racing pistons, Speartech harness, Pantera EFI is supplying the ignition coils, Lemmon 2" headers for DSE sub frame. Starts to add up.

Buying the Radiator with the intercooler setup wasn't easy as I thought. Autorad built a custom setup for me, but I contacted several vendors. Custom twin pump Rick's tank.

Anyway, I just saw this post.

I was getting quotes for NA 418 for almost that price, but supercharged engine built right costs lot more.
