Hi Guys -

I'm working yet another 1969 Camaro, and I've got an engine mounting question. I've installed a full DSE front subframe, and I'm planning to install an LS3 mated to a T-56 Magnum along with the DSE engine mounts and headers. We dropped it in for a first test fit today, and man - is it tight to the firewall! How close is too close? There is about .625 from the rear of the engine to the firewall. It appears surprisingly farther aft than I'd expected.

Is this normal? If not, what have other's done to accomodate the engine?

thanks very much

Adam

I used BRP mounts altough on a stock sub-frame and they position the engine much further forward. I had to use them to get room for the rear exit intercooler stuff on the LSA motor but I don't know it that sub-frame allows you to do this because of the lower cross members, crank pully & oil pan you have used. Also my headers had a slight problem on the pass side with the upper Hotchkiss control arm.
