Well I'm finally staring on it. It has had multiple lives and renditions, but this will be the end result. Its last incarnation was a 10.5 drag car that never completely went through.
Heres what I'm starting with:
1970 chevelle malibu
moser 9" rear (new with backbrace) narrowed to accept 10 wheels w/ 4" b/s
metco adjustable upper and lower control arms
hotchkis rear suspension braces
full 14 point roll cage (will be removing the door x's down to single down bars and a few other pieces to lighten and gain better access for street driving)
all factory frame welds were ground and rewelded
poly body mounts
all rear coilover and antiroll bar mounts will be removed to be replaced w/ coilovers mounted w/ kit from chassisworks or similar

I am hoping to have it driveable by the run thru the hills show this year in TN.
Here is what I am hoping to put into the car
Front suspension:
ats afx spindles w/ steering arms
spc upper and lower arms
afco dbl adj coilovers
lee box
sc and c sway bar
c6 z06 brake package from kore3
rear suspension:
may change whole 9" out if I can move the one I have (its new but more setup for drag racing. 35 spline axles, aluminum chunk, spool etc.)
leave metco arms (change rear arm pivot out to pivot ball, and upper bushings to pivot ball
afco dbl adj coilovers on chassisworks or similar mounts
sc and c sway bar
wheels and tires are still a toss up, but the car will not be mini tubbed. I want the biggest w/o any rubbing issues.
wheel brands are narrowed to forgeline and rushforth. still up in the air about 18" or 19"s. Tire size choice and brand preference (bfg kdw2) are limiting me to 18" right now. Probably looking at 18x8.5 fronts and 18x11 rears.
powertrain will be ls based. not sure if ls1 and t56 or maybe a ls2 and t56. If money and time allow maybe even ls3 and new kiesler clutchless t56
interior will be pretty much stock w/ good seats a/c unit and maybe a autometer lcd gauge unit
If anyone has any ideas, pics of there rides, etc. please post up. I'm open to pretty much anything right now, but I want this to go my way. My goal is 110% performance with the least fab work and modifying as possible. I dont have the money to let a respectable shop build this for me (nor would I want them to do it all for me either), and I dont have the time to do all the work myself (fab and layout). I have 4 kids so my free time is nonexistent.
I know I left a lot of little stuff out but I will get to it as the build gets under way and goes on. I want to be able to purchase and bolt on the majoriity of the parts and have a good performing street/track car.
