Need some assistance here, got this GM column that was swapped into this truck I just bought; I want to get an aftermarket steering wheel, don't know what year car the column came out of, need to know so I can order the correct Grant steering wheel adaptor kit.

Can someone identify what basic year etc of this column? Thanks very much.

looks like a 78-79 chevy truck tilt, there should be a plastic cover over the lockplate, if you buy a grant kit for 79 chevy truck you should be in good shape,i have the plastic covers if you need one, Jim ( gmtilt.com)

Thanks. I used Grant Products Part Number 3196. Worked like a charm.

Before w/ the GM steering wheel:
55377

Here's the finished steering wheel installed. I used a mid 50's banjo style, the black \wheel and brushed finish work on the spokes look great in the cab of the 1961 Econoline.
