So I'm in the middle of my C5 swap and now I've discovered I have a fitment issue. The front face of the caliper is hitting the back of the spoke area on my wheels. I understand that I could do a C4/C5 hybrid using the C4 rotor and a C5 caliper and this pushes the caliper back a bit. Does anyone have a template that I can verify with? Does anyone have any hybrid brackets around or know where I can get them? Looks like I may have some nice rotors and brackets available?

So I did a little more measuring and I think some 1/4" wheel spacers will do the trick.

What kind of wheels are you running? Also you most likely will need longer studs with 1/4" .

17" Budnik Hammers. I'm looking at the stud issue now. The 3rd gen hubs use metric studs 12mm. I would like to switch back to SAE 7/16" studs since my rears are SAE. What is the part number or knurl size of the 3rd gen hubs?

3rd gen f-body? If so:
ARP 7708
GM: Camaro/Firebird/Corvette, late GM, 12mm x 1.5 thread, 2 1/2 in. long, .509 in. knurl diameter, wheel studs
napa 6411581
Motormite 98501
Dorman 610-323
They are 54mm long (about 2-1/8"), .509 knurl with an 8mm shoulder.
I used the Dorman studs. Note that these are longer then stock and are metric.

OK so I have the spacers on and longer studs. Everything is clearing but I'm very close. What is the minimum safe clearence between back of wheel and caliper face also between wheel hoop and caliper fins?

Minimum safe clearance is ~2mm or .08"...a little more certainly doesn't hurt. I've seen less work, but they were on more rigid setups.

Well I can grind more off the caliper fins to get the hoop clearence but the spokes I guess I should have went thicker on the spacers. Currently 5/16", 3/8" would give me this clearence. Could I shave a bit off the pad?

You can certainly take a little off the outside pad without hurting anything but your pad life.
