Does any one know or have the actual measurements of the inside of the Detroit Speed & Engineering mini tubs for 67-69 f body? I know they say that they will fit a 335 but just woundering with how much clearance.

The 335's should fit pretty good in there with a decent little bit of clearance. The limiting factor is if you try using leaf springs. That will make it really tight. From what I have seen, at least.

Thanks zbugger,
I'm really looking for the actual inside measurment because I'm actually working on a 64 Chevelle and wanted to know how wide they made their tubs to fit the 335's so I could use it for a reference for my project.

The section on a 335 is 13.6. So you should be able to measure the section on whatever tire you have now, measure your clearance and do the math. DSE tubs are 3" wider then stock, but I never measured the tub.

I just looked at the BFG site and a 315 g-force Kd on an 11" rim measures 12.6 so to get a 335 to 13.6 it must be on a 12" rim, correct?
Anyways I have already done the math on my filament issues just trying to double check. That’s why I was wondering what the DSE's are but if you know the width of the stock tub that that would work too then I could just "do the math" myself :geek:

B64,

On my '68 Camaro (passenger side), I've got about 15 1/2" from the deep tub, to the outside edge of the quarter lip.

Yes, on a 12" rim

Thanks Ralph,
So that would make it about 14 1/2" inside demension?

Roughly 14 1/2" yeah, probably more like 14 5/8". I did not notch my rails as far in as some people do, though. I still have about 5/8-3/4" at the thinnest part of my rail. If you're going to be building from scratch, I'd leave about 15" or so of room for the 335. I was planning on running 335s, but I'll be stepping down to a 315 to prevent rubbing under extreme cornering.
