Hey guys, I thinking about buying this amp and was wondering if a 4 ga. power amp wire will be enough to power this amp? I'm thinking I need 18 feet or so.

It's a class D amp. You'll be fine with 4 ga. at that distance.

What does Alpine recommend? There are many wire guage calculators on the internet. Look at the fuse that comes with the amps, then find the gauge that will carry that amperage over the distance you are running it.
Of couse the amp will never draw the current of the fuse but this will get you there. Or, you can look at the owners manual of the amp or call Alpine. Class D is more efficient, meaning it actually puts out more of the power it is rated at, so not sure if it will draw less power than an A\B amp. I always follow the owners guide.

4 guage is what owners manual recommends.

quick calc, 600watts/12volts = 50amps. Amp fuse rating is 2 x 30 amp.

If I remember right, 4ga is good for somewhere around 100amps.(depending on wire quality and length)

More than adequate.
