I want to rattle can my coil covers in body color but I know there are problems making paint stick to plastic and the paint cracking if the plastic is flexed. What process do I use and do I have to have my paint mixed specially with some kind of flex agent? I now nothing about paint so any help would be appreciated.
thanks

Check out Krylon's FUSION line of plastic paints. They are getting quite a selection of colors in that line so you may find something real close.
The key to painting plastic is to get it clean. Washing and scrubbing in hot water with some TSP will get it pretty clean. Scrub with some grey scotchbrite while washing and you will have a nice surface to hold the paint. Clean the corners very well. The scotchbrite works great to get into the tighter corners.
Don't handle the clean parts with your bare hands prior to painting.
I warm the paint in hot water for ten minutes before spraying. Helps flow. Fusion is designed for plastics so nothing else is needed for good coverage and flexibility.

Everything that Mark mentioned works too....yet another option is a product called Bulldog, it comes in aersol and by the quart, ask for it in a local paint supply. Its pretty straight forward, sand, prep, spray Bulldog, dry then use whatever color and paint over it. It has some type of properties in it that allows your various types of paints to adhear...

Duplicolor sells an adhesion promoter in a rattle can.

Dupli-color works well on hard plastic BUT you need to prime with their grey primer or Plasti-Kote's gray primer to prevent the plastic reacting to the laquer based paint. Fusion will work well on the softer pieces IF you can find your color.
