been doing a lot of reasearch and cant seem to find a straight answer..i know there is a lot of threads regarding this matter but the car is in san diego getting restored and cant get to the wheels to measure the offsets.. 1968 camaro with ls1 disk brakes on all 4 corners...i am going with the boss 338's 18x8 fronts 235/40 and 18x9.5 275/40 rear. suspension is all stock. i do not want the tires to stick out but dont want them to tuck in way to much either. any help/info from the pros would be grealty apreciated. thanks guys

I have a set of these wheels in the sizes you want. They definately wont tuck in the back. If you want the car super low they wont work in the rear but the way the quarter arches they will be fine if you are going to run a 2" lower leaf spring. I also sent you a PM

depending on backspacing the fronts should be good. the rear, you will either hit wheel well, leaf springs or the quarter lip. We have been able to go 9" wide rear with a 5.50 back space.

For future search... I have Boss 338 wheels on my car also. They are 18/8 and 18/9.5 with 225/40 front and 275/35 rear tires "I thought the 275/40's looked too big IMO. What a lot of people dont think about or consider is there is enough material on the mounting surface to safely machine 1/4". I have had this done to all four of my Boss wheels to gain the extra 1/4" BS and they tuck very nice without the lips being rolled or trimed. My car is a work in progress right now and the engine is out or I would post some pics.

The local machine shop charged me $50 per wheel to machine them.. You would be amazed at the difference a 1/4" makes when your tight on clearance.

This is interesting. Do you know what the tolerance is for machining the mating surface? Just wondering how to determine if this is safe to do or not. Also, since this is an old thread, can you post any pictures of the car now? Thanks...
