I have a 68 camaro that I would like to swap a late model vette motor into. The car is currently a fast burn 385 crate motor and 700r4 with 200 miles on rebuild. I just would like to go in a different direction. I am at the point in my life that I would like it done right by somebody smarter than me. Who is the best swap shop in the southeast US?

my other option is to put about $10k with mine (mine is probably worth about 25k) and trading for a late model zo6. All toy prices including late model vettes are in the tank. So the time is right to buy. What do you guys think?

To bad you don't live in the southwest. We could do it for you. If you put your state it might be easier for someone to recommend a place.

I know Frank with Prodigy Customs (Orlando, FL) is on here a lot... he may chime in. Seems to be a great vendor of the site and a lot of people use/recommend for LS stuff or anything else. I plan on contacting him soon for some go-fast goodies (hopefully an LS stroker setup).

Thanks for all the quick repsonses. I am in south Mississippi (near McComb if you are familiar with the area). I was thinking Memphis, Jackson, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Birmingham at the farthest. I wanted to be able to lay eyes on the person that will do the work and the facility.

Alan Johnson is in Gasden AL. I know there is one or two more in that area. Jesse Greening is in Nashville. I will have to put on my thinking cap.

You probably don't want to go this far, but Detroit Speed in Mooresville, NC does great work. And they could do your suspension as well. Bring money!!!
