What i started with for reference

started with a rendering i pulled off the internet and went from there. i havent done anything with the hood yet but plan to.

I blended the chrome around the "T" bar to make it bigger and smoother, did a lengthened rocker panel to make room for side exhaust, filled in most of the slot in the bumper, tucked and shortened the bumper ends and added foglights and the lower spoiler is off of a new body challenger.

just looking for ideas and opinions and some other things to look into. let me know what you think!

Be careful messing with other folk's stuff, I rub shoulders with a lot of other automotive artists and one thing that really seems to get under everyone's skin is someone using someone else's original artwork without permission. Even though you're modifying it to your needs the original artist or the client they did it for owns the copyright and you could get in a heap of trouble, particularly if you try to use it in a commercial sense. At least you admitted someone else did the original, you'd be surprised how many people change it here a little and there a little and claim they did it. If you're just playing around trying to get used to Photoshop it's probably not such a big deal, again I just say be careful when you post another's work on a national forum.

With that said, The front fog lights are pointing upwards. If you applied them on a layer above the original art layer, changing them to the right angle is a breeze. First select them, many ways to do so, then use the edit>Transform tools and tweak them a little. Overall from what I can see you've got a good enough grip on Photoshop to start doing your own renderings. Grab a photo of your favorite car and "paint" over it for practice. I'd like to see what you come up with. Good luck!

Yes me and my roommate were both worried about getting in trouble for using someone else's artwork. Enough that I researched about copyright laws and such. I am for sure not trying to Say this is my artwork at all, it just happened to be a very good starting point. This my first time using photoshop and I am just trying to get a feel of the ideas I had in my head for my project. I have a big respect for you guys that can create this stuff, you are very talented and I hope I didn't offend anyone by using someone else's artwork.

I'm not too good at adding layers yet I know that, I'm more asking for everyone's thoughts ion the modifications overall.

Hope ya didn't feel like I was barking at you, that wasn't my intentions, just trying to cover your back. Can we see the original? That may make it a little easier to visualize your changes.

How about tint the windows and change the wheels. Try to get familiar with using layers, they're your friends. Go to the layer pallet and select "new layer". Then make changes there so that you always have the original background art to fall back on if you make changes you didn't like so much. Give 'er a try.

Something like this...

53808

I found a wheel on the internet, trimmed the rest of the rim off, dropped it on top of the GTO in a new layer, then resized and thinned the wheel to fit the drawing accordingly, and added some shading.

Any specific questions how to do this feel free to ask. Good luck!

playing around with the rear
https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2012/01/gto_rear-1.jpg

besides whats obvious i shaved the trim and tucked the bumper a little bit.
i also removed about and inch out of the height of the bumper and added a lower valance. basically im trying to get rid of the bulk and elegant style pontiac gave it. if anyone wants to play around with ideas feel free. im just trying to get the creative juices flowing. Lastly since i may be having the exhaust go out the side then i need to come up with something that looks good without an exhaust outlet.

One of the valance ideas

another one to try something different
