Looking to upgrade rims/tires. Currently have 15x7 front and 15x9 Cragar Chrome SS rear of dark green '68 camaro. I am thinking of Gun Metal Torq Thrust II's, vs Chrome. Wanted to see what everyone thinks, and if sizing would be 17x8 front and 17x9.5 rear. I like the hot rod look of larger wheels on back but don't want them to stick out too much and 17 is as large as i want. I think the gun metal is different and looks cool, esp w/ that dark green color. Cragar also option, as well as Vintage Wheel Works, all look cool. Wanted to see what you all think. If it were black i'd go chrome. I'm new to muscle cars, so please ignore any "stupid" vernacular :) . Also, and reco's on best tires to get as well is appreciated!
thanks, want to see what all the experts think!

I've got 18's Show Wheels on my 68 front and back. Disregard the stance as I don't have any current pics with the new suspension.53245

Go with something other than TT2's. They are too common. Look at Vintage Wheel Works, they make a cool wheel in that style.

Search this forum for user "vanzuuk1". His 69 is exactly what you asked for.
Wedge,
It might be time to let go of the Torq Thrust IIs. If you are looking at this forum to begin with then I know you are wanting something more than those. If you search around at many of the projects on this forum you will soon see that 17 or even 18 is not bad at all for the 1st gen Camaros. It will definitely give your car a more modern appearance. If you are wanting to stick with that five spoke look and gun metal gray I would suggest looking at the Boss 338 wheels. The backspacing on the rear wheels is close but it can work. The price is pretty good and you can find them at many places online. Here is a link and a picture of them on a 67 Camaro. Good luck...wheel choices are a tough decision to make.

I just got done spraying the centers of the torq thrust on bolth my camaro and 55 chevy. I got sick of taking care of them and they look meaner than polished.
I used aluminum etching primer, textured silver, cast aluminum, flat clear with silver metallic.
