Yet another 1967 Camaro build thread.

Hello, all! Long time member/lurker but rare poster here, and I decided it is finally time to officially start a build thread for my project. I do apologize in advance to those that are bored with Camaros, but it is a 1967 that I bought a few years back when these cars were still pretty cool. I worked on it for a while, but when the economy took a tank I had to put it on hold for a bit. Things are STARTING to improve my way so I can do some more work on it for a while. Anyway, happy browsing!

Here are a few pics of it the day I bought her home. My original intent was to spend a few extra bucks and get a decent "driver quality" car and to NOT get a full project. I did know this car needed a few things, but I thought I could fix them one at a time as I went along. OOPS!

The car was advertised as being an RS/SS350, but I was quickly able to determine it wasn't before I bought it so I was able to get the price down a decent amount. I bought it in Knoxville, TN and she made the drive home to just NW of Atlanta, GA beautifully. It was a pretty clean looking car, and we did enjoy it quite a bit as is over the summer of '06. And I obviously should have left her alone. :)

After driving her completely without incident that summer, the fall weather came and I thought it would be a good time to start working on the to-do list. I because of the typical rust under the battery. The passenger's side mount had basically collapsed and the front end was very crooked.

Please excuse the mess in the garage, but for those of you with a really keen eye - yes, that is one standard fender and one RS fender. Good times.

Well, since the radiator support was bad, I could not expect the inner fender to be good, could I? So off it comes, too (and as long as I am at it, I might as well pull the other side off, too, right).

I have not found anything horrible yet, but the side cowl pieces do show signs of hidden rust.

It is probably at this point where the little guy on my left shoulder with the harp and the halo should have shouted "STOP," but to blatantly steal a line from Ron White - "I didn't hear a peep out of that guy."

So, as far along as I have gone I need to decide if I keep going or fix what I see and put it back together. My wife and I talk about it (or I guess the correct way to put it is that I talk about it and she stands there listening with her hands on her hips & tapping her foot at me). "We" decide to keep going. Part of me is glad I did because I found more that I didn't see on purchase day. The floor pan under the rear seat footwell is completely shot on both sides & had been "repaired" with something that resembled fiberglass but it was not nearly as stiff, and (I kid you not, but I unfortunately do not have a picture of it) the passsengers rear fender was being held on with two vise grips. Oh, well - more pics of rust:

A couple of weeks later, my son and I picked it up from the media blasters. We used Professional Cryogenics in Canton, GA, and they did a great job of blasting it and priming it for us.

We discovered bad quarters, outer wheel wells, floor pans, trunk pans, rear tail panel, and a bad roof skin, so we took it to C. Hopkins Rod & Customs in Cleveland, GA for a second car's worth of new sheet metal (that is our car on the right).

I am not sure if C. Hopkins is still in business but I could not be happier with their work. The bill sucked (not their fault), but the quality of their work was really good. They even put the shell on a jig before they took it apart so thet they coud sqaure the car back up and hold it while all the new panels went on. They, of course, found more things that needed fixing (rockers, dash top, outer cowl panels, etc.) so we did those pices as well.

When I originally took the car to them they were not willing to do a mini-tub for me (at the time they were only comfortable with working with Goodmark sheet metal), but they called me a few months later letting me know they had changed thier mind and were willing to try. My car went back to them and it was the first Camaro to go through their shop for a mini-tub install. I am sure they have done many more since then as this was early in 2007.

While the car was still at the body shop getting the mini-tubs installed, the man in the brown suit brought me a treat! Thank you, RideTech!

I also found an 8.5" 10 bolt axle from an early 70's Nova to use, too! Once I got he car back I started on the install.

It wasn't long after that I got together with Frank at Prodigy Customs who got me a fabricated Moser 9" rear axle set up for the RideTech Air Bar.

In my further lack of ability to control myself, I ordered a Speedtech Performance subframe.

I had it powder coated not long after I got it to help keep it from rusting. I still need to weld on the braces above the upper shock mount, so it will need to be coated again. More Afco coilovers and it is sitting on the wheels up front, too.

I installed a mock-up engine and TKO transmission. It is coming together nicely!

I have a few more pics of parts to share, but it looks like I have about exhausted my 15 MB picture limit. It is probably just as well as this takes us to about the current condition of the car. As stated above, I have started working on it again and am currently planning on getting the body and paint work started. I'll cull my pics and update this post with more as things develop!

BTW, Sparky - Thanks again for the beautiful radiator for this project! I am still amazed at the quality of your work and the price point that you are selling them for. I think one of your catch cans and some of your valve covers may be in my future sometime soon!

Thanks, Karl. My plan (and hope) is never to sell this one (I would like to eventaully pass it along to my son) so I am taking the time now to get done right what I can.

Heck, no. Lots of emails and phone calls made. No response. I guess my piddly $1100 spent isn't enough to warrant a status update. Wondering about starting to show up in other threads asking about status to see if it causes any kind of reaction, but I am sure that the people with much higher post counts than mine will just show up in his defense and accuse me of improper activity.

Sure did - my Moser axle seemed to take while to get here, but that was a custom build ( not off the shelf). The level of communication was bad then, too, though. My brake package order showed up wrong the first time, but he was great about fixing it. Now I remember why I had quit ordering through him.

Yes - paid with cc, but I already paid the bill (to avoid interest charges) which could make the charge more fun to dispute.

As long as the payment is less than 60 days ago, it doesn't matter if you already paid the bill or not. If you dispute the charges for product not received, they will remove the money from his account immediately, then the burden is on him to prove that the product was already shipped out before the dispute.

Did Procryo move? By the pictures, it looks like you're outside their shop in Cumming, GA. This is the same place that blasted and primed my '67 just over a year ago. Great job on the project btw. Looks like you've got a great start. Can't wait to see more.

ProCryo is who we are using for Project Sabre's chassis, they have a fantastic reputation and are several hundred cheaper than most of the other companies we spoke with.

It looks as though we will have very similar underpinnings (I even have the same brake package you do) but you are definitely taking your to the next level everywhere else! Do you mind telling me whose rear sway bar you chose? I need to make that decision soon, too. I also like how you to it to fit with the back brace on your rear axle. When I ordered my housing, I chose not to have the brace put on because I didn't think it would work with a sway bar. Oh, well.

Thanks Mike. It's a Hellwig sway bar. I'm not sure of the part number though. I'll check my pile of instructions in the shop to see if I can find it though. Yeah I really like how the sway bar turned out and there are no u-bolts. Almost makes it look like it's floating underneath. I didn't really need the back brace, but love the added look of it. I think it makes the rear look way meaner.

A little progress on the YAC this morning. Jeremy has welded one of the quarter to rear deck fiiller panel seams:

The e-coat has been ground off the seam at the quarter to taillight panel, in preparation for welding. I have to say I'm not impressed with the panel fitment here, but we'll fix that.

looks good. I asked about that and Mike agreed that it looks like the rear panel fitment was more of a hammer and poor attitude to hurry up and get it done. Thankfully, YAC is in good hands now and will be fixed the right way.

DSE makes a half-firewall fill plate that overlays the stock firewall...Jeremy was making his own from scratch, and decided that rather than overlaying the firewall, it would be cleaner to just cut out the offending ugliness and weld in a new panel.

Just save a little at a time, then plan a few small projects at a time. no need to do it all at once, unless like you said you win the lottery, or you have a specific deadline to meet. Otherwise, just pick a few things to do at a time, then be okay knowing it won't get painted for a while, and will sit in primer as you have a few things done here and a few things done there.

As much as I like the quality of the work, I really appreicate the attention to detail like wrapping the front suspension components so they don't get damaged by weld splatter, I do realize that you would have done the same for the subframe if we had not talked about it needing to be re-coated. That is something I would not even have thought to ask for (and obviuosly didn't), and you guys automatically doing that is why we, your customers and fans, think so much of your company out here! Many thanks to you, Jeremy, Clark and the other guys on your team that I simply have not gotten to know yet.

I could not agree more on this line of thinking. I have been guilty of starting down one path and changing my mind as I go, but I have found it to be much easier to get this all done if I divide the whole project into pieces and then attack & see each individual task through before I move onto the next.

I am neither rich nor a recent (or non-recent for that matter) lottery winner, and what you see here is the result of several years worth of "begging, borrowing, bartering and stealing." Even though I started this thread recently, I bought this car almost six years ago and have been doing a little bit of work at at time ever since. Sparky can even attest to the fact that is has sat in my garage for close to 4 years in primer while I scraped and saved away to be able to have it painted. The opportunity to have a shop like Bulldawg Musclecars do this work and get it into paint for me came up for me almost by accident, but the timing was right and I could not pass up this chance. I am sure that when I get it back from Joe and his team it will take a bit of time to get the interior as I want it & the wheels that I want to put on it, but I am willing to invest the "waiting period" to get it right.

Thanks for the response Joe. Some shops don't seem to want to do work that way with the car going in and out of the shop regularly. It's nice to know someone I can depend on to treat me right will do this kind of work on an intermittent basis. I just wish you guys were a little closer...that would make it perfect.

While we were at the beach on vacation, I did some real quick color theme sketches. My 9 year old son and I are set on green of some sort, and I really like the Fathom Green that they put on the '69s. I am also trying to incorporate some sort of orange accent stripe. I'm still not completely set on a direction but here is what I have thought about so far.

First concept is a green with black stripes (probably a single stripe down the hood and trunk lid either just wider than the hood bulge or as wide as the two stripes they put on from the factory. It looks a little "blah" to me:

I just about have myself convinced of a true two tone (say that three times fast). Here is a option that would be green on the sides and silver on the top. I really like this one.

I am still going to look at an option that is black on the top and a bright green (like a Granny Smith apple color) on the sides, but I don't know if I have the guts to pull that off.

More sketches to follow as I put them together. Anybody have any thoughts or comments so far?

I do like your suggestions, but the Apple Green option above is really my least favorite one . I had seen a new Synergy Green Camaro a couple months back, and even though I liked the color I could not keep from wondering the whole time I was looking at it how long it would take for me to get tired of that vivid a color.

Great build Mike! I had no idea a Camaro could be this cool. ;) Of all the 1st gens I thought if ever there were a Camaro in my family I would have bought a 67. Mostly because it's not a 69 and I like the round turn signals rather than the 68's rectangular units. I really like what dirction you're going.

I'm going to be a party pooper, this is my only opinion here so take it for what it's worth. And keep in mind I understand opinions are like arm pits, everyone has 'em and most stink, lol! I base my thoughts on my quirkie design-ness and the fact that paint on a car "talks" to me as much as the design lines of the car itself. ...OK, you can call me weird when I get there.

I don't like the dark gray and green scheme much at all. Charcoal gray and green typically have a different hue eminence or luminance or insert another term here that fits better. Dark gray is somewhat muted, it's heavy (as in visual weight), it's low key, dark and mysterious, and it's a color that speaks subtle bad-bootie.

Green is in a whole 'nother category, sort of lively and happy, yet the right tone can be considered aggressive too. Fathom green is an interesting shade, it's kind of muted itself and for accent, needs something that will contrast it a lot to punch the whole design out. Car companies spend a great deal of money studying and pondering color theory. Notice that with fathom green, tremendously contrasting white was used as an accent color.

I think if you put dark gray and fathom green together it will come out too muted, not have enough contrast, look too heavy, will feel like they don't quite match each other and lack some punch. You're saving grace would be the bright orange accent but I still have my reserves about this specific combo.

Look at your art (nice work BTW) and compare the silver and green's pop! to the gray and green's lack of it. I'm working on a project rendering for Chris with his "Delilah" Cutlass and originally we were going to do a charcoal gray w/ bright green stripes. The only reason it was going to work was because it was such a strong contrast. And although it wouldn't be a "comfortable" car to look at, (you know the kind that you look at and say, "Wow, that's just beautiful") that was his whole plan, to have the car have an "in your face" attitude which fits great with his big mean bulldog looking car. After several color scheme options we've finally decided that the green and gray option could easily go out of style quickly and maybe wasn't quite the attitude he wanted so we settled on two shades of metallic gray.

In contrast to a 72 Cutlass, a 67 Camaro is a very elegant looking car, perhaps more so than the 68 and 69 Camaros which got progressively aggressive looking. Your car is sleek, smooth, and looks nimble, not mean and nasty. To compliment the design lines, a light (as in weight), sleek, and nimble paint combination would fit better. To me the silver and green combo says just that. It keeps the car bright and happy, makes it feel light, and says "I'm quick". Particularity I like green on top. There's more silver real estate in that case which helps give it that light feel. The heavy green on top brings it back to the ground and helps it stay there. That combo just speaks speed to me.

If your heart is on the dark gray and green, keep the gray on top, and use a brighter more exciting green than fathom. You need a lot of contrast to make it work.

Hope you don't mind my long explanation of my preference, I look at car design through psychology and for what the paint is saying to me rather than just picking colors, so you get a mouthful when I share my opinion. Either way I'm eager to meet you and see the progress on the YAC come together in person.

Thanks for the compliments, Ben. My favorite is the 67 as well for some of same reasons, plus I like the vent windows on that body style.

I came to basically the same conclusions that you did about the above color combinations (and I do appreciate your input). My favorite was the green on top of the silver as well, but Joe was concerned that color combination would looked dated after a while so we nixed it and (all the other schemes above). In fact, we have abandonded the two tone idea for now as a solid with a stripe never can go out of style. What direction we are heading in I would rather not say yet as I have not seen an actual sample of the color in person yet, and I might not want to let it out until it is actually on the car. :-) I think we are keeping the orange stripe down the side, though, but we do plan to keep it a reasonable size. I am excited about it and think it could be VERY different and VERY cool (if it actually looks good)! It really can't happen quickly enough! I know - "patience".

Since the last update, we have started mocking up the front sheet metal and building the new valance. Mike dropped off new inner fenders and the weatherstrip ( for setting gaps) before our move, and we're getting started back on it this week.

I went to the Bulldawg Musclecars' monthly meet and greet last Saturday morning and was able to take a few progress shot of the car. I had planned to make more progress last week, but my little man had his Cub Scout pine wood derby event this past Saturday and I spent a lot of time last week working on putting that car together. It was all worth it because his car finished in first place of the whole pack! We brought two trophys home and now get to go race in the local district race in April.

As for YAC - no new updates. I need to work on it, but am just not motivated to do so right now. Oh, well.

Me, too. I am not getting any younger, after all! :-)

I have been online trying to figure out what oil pan I need. Last time I had the engine in the oil pan was hitting the steering rack, so I need to find another one that works better. I think I may have narrowed my choices down, but I am going to email the subframe manufacturer and post up in the Suspension Tech section just to get some feedback and suggestions. And I went to my local Camaro restoration parts house this morning to pick up the steering column dash bracket and firewall plate (because I have misplaced both of mine) so I could get the column in, but both were special order items and a whole lot more to get to me than eBay so I came back home and saved a few bucks ordering there. Either way those parts won't be here until next week so I can make some progress then. I do have a couple of other things that need doing this weekend anyway.

Because we've (Speedtech) wanted to keep the geometry where it needs to be and avoid the headaches of moving the steering forward, the rack and pinion remains as a rear steer. As a result in some applications you may need a bit of compensation in oil pan clearance. A stock traditional SBC or BBC should fit fine with a stock pan. I can't remember, is there an LS motor going in there? In that case the frame was designed around using a ATS/ Speedtech or Autokraft LS oil pan and custom designed Speedtech engine mounts. Either of those pans fit just fine. We have recently made some orders so the ATS pans are again in stock and are a pretty cool piece. Ben - sorry for the lack of response, but I seem to have it figured out now. I had to get replacement engine stands from you guys & move them all the way back on the subframe, but the (aftermarket) pan now clears the rack. It is a little HEI unfriendly that way but we may even be able to get that to work as well. I may get a different (read: more expensive) high-clearance pan to give my self even more room down there.

I know - it has been a while since I have made any updates, or even progress for that matter. It has been a rough year and a half around here, but things are starting to get better. All that hopefully means that progress on YAC start kick back into gear. Anyway, here are some updated (albeit showing only minor progress for now) pics:

I bought a second hand set of coated Stainless Works headers, but they were not specifically for my subframe so there was not enough clearance at the steering rack.

I called Speedtech and ordered a new set of their headers (should have just done that in the first place), new engine stands (I had ruined the ones they had sent me because I was using the wrong motor mounts) and a steering shaft kit. I installed all of that soon after arrival. It all works much better - the steering shaft just needs to be trimmed to work.

I had also bought a 4.3 engine out of an S10 from a junkyard a year or so ago so I could steal the front serpentine accessory drive setup. After putting it on, I realized that I really want to run the later TPI serpentine setup as I don't like how high this system makes everything sit. I think the bracket that holds the tensioner part may be in the way of my throttle body. Sorry for how dirty this all is - I was just mocking it all up.

And while I was taking the bracket off of the 4.3, I thought I would tear it all down a little to see what kind of shape it is in. I have an old Jeepster Commando that it will be perfect for (someday). I must say this is about the nastiest engine I have ever taken apart. I do not understand how water got in EVERY cylinder. My guess it that there was water in the intake manifold and somebody turned it over a couple of times. As it is now, it will not turn over. This will be a fun one to take apart.

Let it set 2-3 days then do the same on the other side. If all goes well, it should free it up enough to make it easier to get the pistons out. Hopefully it helps! I just tore down a 5.7 that had two seized pistons - penetrating oil (PB Blaster) worked for me well enough to get the assembly rotating where I could get it apart fairly easily.

Thanks, Geoff. I will add that to my many things I will try. I have been adding pb blaster every 12 hours for a day now, and may give that a few more days. I have also read to try soaking the cylinders in white vinegar for a couple of days, cleaning it out and then filling the cylinders with boiling water. Let it all cool naturally and then giving it a try. I may try that as I have the vinegar and can make boiling water. If that doesn't work I will try the diesel. Then whatever diesel I don't use I can spray on my weeds in the back yard to kill them.



Did you feel that? It was a vacuum created by all the tree huggers gasping at one time. :-)

I had it powder coated not long after I got it to help keep it from rusting. I still need to weld on the braces above the upper shock mount, so it will need to be coated again. More Afco coilovers and it is sitting on the wheels up front, too.

Zero, but I don't call using the roof of my car to store another car's hood "progress". Yes, and that exact thing happened before and I specifically expressed that exact concern to the shop owner when I dropped it off.

The good news is that I have been talking with another shop that has come highly recommended from several people I have talked to, and i had gotten on their waiting list. They told me a month ago that they should have space for me in about a month, and low and behold a month later - they are ready for my car, and they even came and picked it up from my house! They are supposed to start on it next week and said they might be about ready to spray it in about six weeks. Even if they can't have it ready for color in double that time, I am still giddy about it!

Sounds cool. I live and work in Alpharetta. It's funny you mention learning on an old Jeep. Not trying to hijack your build thread, but here's a before and after of a '74 CJ5 I completely rebuilt my freshman year in college. Did everything in a 1 car garage, which included replacing the entire tub with a new steel body. Painted it Viper GTS blue. Of course I've since sold the Jeep to by my first home, but man was a great ride.

Quick update. I went by the shop (Thunder Valley Customs) that is working on it now, and they have finished setting up the rear axle and installing the rear sway bar. They have also cut a hole in the tunnel for the shifter, and now they are moving on to the body work. They have hung the front sheet metal back on and are working on setting the gaps.

I also took them the hood so they could set that on and the trim for the windshield & the back window so they could fit the gaps for those pieces. They had the front jacked up so they could pull the engine out. Not sure about the method - I just had to walk away and not watch. :) They got it out fine though and started working on the firewall.

Here is an another update. I stopped by the shop yesterday to check in, and they were fitting the front clip one more time before they blow it all apart again to start painting it. They said they were taking the dry pearl I took to them last week to have it made into paint yesterday, so I figure they must be getting close! The current plan is to get it back to be in color and ready for me to star my assembly but the end of June. When I reminded them that was only about 5 weeks away, they sarcastically asked me if I wanted them to slow it down a bit. Ummmn, NOOO! I may add some scope on them so I may not really get it back that quickly, but it sounds like color is coming soon either way!

Anyway, I just know there is something I am forgetting to relay to them before it gets painted, but I promise I really do not know what that would be.

Dave - that color was really what I was going for. It seems to still be there now that the clear is on, but it is now surrounded by other colors of green and blue. The pics without the clear were taken in the shop and the lighting where it was then was much less than the later ones from inside the paint boot and outside. I wonder if that green will be more obvious again in darker environments (like dusk time at the Canton Saturday cruise in). :-)

Btw - I forgot to mention I do like the pics of the old Jeep you had posted!

I finally got to see part of it out in the sunshine today. They have wet sanded & buffed the hood and took it out for me to see when I stopped by. Again, the color really does not come out in the pictures, but it is awesome in person. They have installed the bed-liner underneath and the rear axle and sub-frame are out getting powder-coated. Here are some shots I took of the hood today. I am still amazed at the variation between blue and green that you can see.

I hope to have the engine back from the machine shop in a couple of days, and then I will index the bellhousing so I can attach the transmission on and take that assembly up there so they can put those in before they install the front sheet metal. Then it will come home while I save up some more funds so I can then make some more progress!

I had to go by the shop this afternoon to drop off some parts they needed (no, not the engine yet - I plan to take that up this Friday) so that they could wrap up the suspension and put it back down on the ground. They have reinstalled the front subframe (grey metallic powder-coated now) and started installing the rear axle (grey metallic powder-coated to match). It just keeps looking better and better. You can see how good the black firewall and the truck bed liner undercoating look.

I went by to check in this afternoon, and they have most of the font sheet metal on and the windshield in. They have also made some great progress on the front valance (sorry, no pics yet!), but they are shooting to have it back together enough for me to bring it home maybe next week. Another quick update, but this is really a couple of weeks old. She is home for now so I can save up some more funds and put on some of the many parts I have been collecting. I am definitely going to have a problem with the brakes. They will not clear my steel ones on it now and I don't have the money to buy the ones I want yet. I know - there are larger problems to have!

As you can start to see in these pictures, the angle that the light reflects off of the car really has a large affect on the color you see.

Mine is not HOK, but I did think about a couple of their colors before I pulled the trigger on this one. Mine is actually a couple of coats of standard black, a few coats of dark green dry pearl flake mixed into a clear carrier, and then sealed with a couple coats of clear. I am not sure anyone was sold on it before it went on the car, but I am really happy with it now - and that is all that matters, right? :-)

Its has been a while since I posted an update, and the car has sat while life has "gotten in the way" of me working on it much. I have, however, spent some time the last couple of days working on setting the pinion angle correctly and getting the axle to sit where I want it. I have gotten it close but it is still about 3/8" too far back. I am hopeful that I have it close enough that I just need to adjust all the bars to be 3/8" shorter and hopefully it will be almost exactly where I want it. I did run into an issue where once I had it at the axle at the proper angle I found that the tabs that will hold the end of the hard brake line are hitting the front of the coilover, so those will need to be moved. Good think I need to have the powder coating on the axle done again anyway.

Anyway, while I was doing all of this and had the axle about right, I put one of the rear tires under the car to see how they will look and check clearances all around. It is tight, but if I can manage to measure correctly for wheels (I will obviously check that several times), I think it will come out just fine! Sorry about the darkness of the pictures, but it was dusk and if I used the flash the car did not look right in the pictures.

Well, two steps forward and one step back - only this is a decent sized step backwards. The two bosses on the front driver's side of the block are supposed to to be drilled and tapped to be able to bolt on my serpentine accessory drive.

I guess I should had bought that accessory kit before I finished the engine build. Stupid me.

Anyway, I marked the locations and started drilling.

I figure if I can make 1/4" per day I will be done in a couple of weeks. The tough part is getting leverage on the drill without leaning against the freshly painted car. I found it best to climb into the engine compartment, and I am not as young as I used to be.

At least I got the water pump painted!

It is a GM 2 bolt 400 block. It's good to know that this is maybe not too common and I should not feel too embarrassed for not checking. Or, that is what I am going to tell myself. :-)

If I'm not mistaken, I believe those holes there were for the motor mounts used in the first gen small blocks when they first came out, i.e. 1950s. I don't believe I've ever had to use them in any of my cars. I recently bought a Summit brand low mount power steering bracket kit that uses those holes. Ended up that that kit put the pulley right up against the steering box so the holes remain unused, lol!

This one has been modified a little bit (splayed billet 4-bolt caps to hold the forged crank). I realize I probably have too big of a cam in it, but I am very eager to hear this one rumble anyway. :-)

It actually is not as big as yours, but yes it is a hydraulic roller. Advertised duration is 292/300, but it is 242/248 @ .050". Lift is .584"/.579". It is a fuel injection cam, so the lobe separation is 113 degrees. I am hopeful that might tone it down a little bit.

Minor update here, but one I am very happy with. I have drilled and tapped the bottom bosses on the driver's side of the block, and they are just about in the perfect position. Doing this with the engine on the car was a major PITA (and my back and neck for all of the leaning at awkward angles), but it is done and I don't think I could be any happier. I still need to clean everything up, but I got the accessories mocked up to make sure everything will fit.

Thanks ryeguy. I am glad to know what you saw may have been helpful. The pictures I have taken are more for me and remembering what all I have done, but I am glad to share them on this build thread with everyone.

Yes, I do plan to go EFI. I am looking at one of the systems that has the EFI in the throttle body. Holley is about to introduce a system that looks almost exactly like a 4150 style carb, and I am leaning toward possibly going that route because I think it looks pretty subtle. I am not going to say my car is going to be a "sleeper" by any means, but there are certain items that have an "old school" look to them that I think would fit well with the SBC I am using.

I got tires mounted on the wheels today which means I could not get home quickly enough to put them on and get the thing back on the ground! There is a non-running Jeep parked next to it, but I hope to push the Jeep out onto the driveway and get some better sides shots of this, but I am really pleased with how they both look and fit. There is obviously a lot of adjustment to the ride height that is still needed, and of course an alignment, but I think it should only get better!
