What components should I purchase. Putting the 302 back in the Z

I am going to pull out my 540 and put it in more of a purpose built Drag car. I haven't researched small block stuff in years. I would like to put my 302 back in my camaro and put EZ-EFI and a Tremec 5 or 6 speed.

I need to freshen the motor as well. I want this combo to be a reliable cruizer. My other car will be my serious performance.

Any tips on Cam selection that will work well with a 6 speed and 3.73 gears.
Transmision and Clutch choice that will be a bolt in? I don't want to cut up this car.:idea:

I am not sure what to suggest, but I love the 302 going back in. What a screaming Small block..

I am still running the Factory LT-1 in mine, M_21, and 3.73 gears.

I think you are going to be happy.

I am running the Comp cam 280H...It really is Obnoxious , but it does work well with these engines and gearing..


The only change I may make someday, is to a 5 or 6 speed..

Hopefully some Mechanics will post their thoughts with ideas for you..
