Great article! Funny that one guy had issues reading it. I red it jus fyne. Mst be my men taaalllitee lebel.
It sure makes me think what my kids see when I get all giddy at car shows. Last time I took the family to a show the kids were bored and complaining within 10 minutes. I've learned to go alone now, maybe when my oldest son and I start on his car next year when he turns 14 he'll get more into it...
That note from your son is awesome, congrats to you for keeping it.

Thanks for the compliments and I do have an out ... the text the story was originally sent in with WAS a kid's font. The letter height varied and it definitely was what an eight year old would do.
The mag didn't have that same font so did the best they could. Hell ... even I had a hard time reading it and I wrote it!!
And the first draft poked some righteous fun at some very influential folks in our industry. And there was some not-so-righteous fun poked too ... had to tame it down a little to keep the advertisers happy campers.
As for the "Detriot Speed," that was intentional. The Tucker's had this custom awning made for their transporter about two years ago. This awning was trotted out and installed at every event, every Good Guys, and at every place that rig was displayed for any length of time. Earlier this year, I looked up and as I can find a misspelled word in a field of text, immediately saw "Detriot" before the "Speed" and, of course, couldn't let this just go unnoticed. "Uh, Kyle ... pssst, check this out?"
That awning had been done and up for over a year and no one had spotted it which I found extremely funny all by itself.

Sometimes you look at something every day, and still don't see it.
The sign painter (Yes, I am old enought to remember before computer vinyl) painted a buddy's new dually with a product name mis-spelled on both rear fenders. We kept laughing as he went for a month without noticing. Someone finally told him, or it would probably still be that way.

Wow Mary, you took your pet peeve of people misspelling words to a whole new level, haven't you!!
When I got my new Camaro Performers in the mail, and got to the last page, I just started laughing at nothing more than the title.........

LOL, Scotty. You'd think a magazine would have a wide variety of type fonts but guess CP doesn't. It looked great in the "kid" type.
How's the Camaro coming?? You get the wheel issue worked out with that nasty insurance company?
