Does anybody know of a good resume writing company you have used or know of? I have a resume currently but I think it needs to be re-done professionally. Thanks a lot.

I use simple templates from HP or Word, keep it simple, basic single paragraph for what your looking for, past experience, education, certifications, then some more personal stuff, but not DL or SSN not till they have you in and ask for it as this would put too much information out at first, once you are into first interview they HAVE to protect your information. Also basic job apps you sign are basic contracts for privacy,,this is why you sign it.

First off and perhaps most importantly, what kind of job are you looking for? This greatly effects what a potential employer will be looking for in your resume. For a "professional" job, I would definitely recommend not using a template from word or online sources, the people reviewing resumes read hundreds of them, they recognize the ones made from templates. While it is certainly not a universal rule, many fill pitch any resumes that appear to have come ad-lib style from a template and then they will go back and actually read the remaining ones. Even if you are not dismissed immediately, if you use a template and 10 other people use that template you all kind of blend in with each other. If you have any friends or relatives that are in a management position, have them review it and give you some honest feedback about what would help it, this can be hard as it is often disturbingly difficult to get your friends to rip you apart when that's really what you need them to do. Even on here you may find some friendly wise members who would be willing to help you out. Above all, make sure it is proof-read well and by several people; typos and poor grammar don't say anything good about you.

Good luck
