I am about to set a 99 LS1 Vette engine into a 67 Camaro. I am swapping the manual steering box for a GM600 power unit. Can anyone give me an idea what is the best hose setup for the power steering with this combo? It would be nice if someone made a bolt-in setup for this.
Also, are there any specific mods needed to make the LS pump work with the GM600 box?
Thanks,
Jim

I looked high and low for a bolt-in hose to no avail. What I did was find a hose from a GM car (I believe it was a Cavalier) that fit the pump and had the correct metal line to clear the pulley. Then I went to a hydrolic hose shop and had a hose made with a crimp fitting for the pump end. It is a 5000 psi rated hose so it will never blow out. The fitting for the steering box should be available at the hose shop or you can put a -6 adapter on it and have a -6 fitting on the rubber hose.

I just went through this with my LS-2 conversion into a 1970 Chevelle. I have the corvette acessory drive and an AN fitting would not work on the PS pump due to clearance issues with the pulley. I used the end off of a 2002 corvette PS hose and had a hose shop make me a hose with this fitting and then had them put a JIC fitting which is the same as an AN fitting and connected it to an AN-6 inverted flare fitting on the pressure side of the steering box. It worked great and the hose cost me $50 bucks total.
