My newest issue is a little bit of scope creep and planning issues. I want to run large brakes and was looking at the C5 kit and AFX spindles. However, this makes me buy large wheels before driving the car, but seems a great setup for not a lot of money. However, I see I can get Ride Tech spindles, use the disc brake kit I have and 15" wheels and get going sooner which is a huge plus. This would force me to use the more expensive Baer or Wilwood brakes later to get larger brakes so it's kind of a pay now or pay later thing. I'm okay with spring and a set of good shocks but standard springs don't work with Ride Tech and I'd like to stick with one system or the other for matched parts. So now it's looking like Ride Tech spindles, stock A arms and such until I get on the road and then do better arms and such. Trying to do most of it while the front end is off, but it's not going to work out. Gotta drive it, it's been 10 years that I've had the car.

So, the buy this requiring the purchase of this and this to go with it can get frustrating. Just venting a little, as I'm excited to get the car on the road and can change some stuff later easy enough but I don't want to spend money twice.

I dont see why you couldn't run the ridetech spindle now and buy the C5 conversion brackets from Kore3 (site sponsor) at a later time (when you want to add the C5 brakes). Ultimately you have to figure out what spring/coilover/airbag you will eventually run to see what lower control arm you will go with. I am currently running the ATS spindle with the ridetech arms/shockwaves. Next month the car will be going from it current setup to the ridetech spindle/coilovers. Nothing wrong with the ATS stuff, I just hate mixing and matching different companies suspension components.

I feel your pain. I am at the point where I would need to spend 2-3K on one of the following things to really make progress: rear suspension, front suspension or engine swap. After I get one of those done, then I will save up to go on to the next one. Each of those parts of the car, one upgrade begets another upgrade and so on and so forth. So, I am watching for deals on what I want and slowly picking up the pieces to make it happen.

That's what I'm trying to do as well. For my driving needs, I really just need some new quality parts to replace the 40yr old stuff. From a performance/want standpoint I'd like a set of coil overs or Air suspension. I think I've found my route in order to get individual pieces as I can afford them and still all work together without spending a bunch up front.

Why won't they work with the C5 stuff (with correct mounting bracket)? I have not heard of that before. I thought the Ridetech spindle was based off of the GM "short" spindle.
