I am installing power discs and power steering on a manual steer/drum brake 67 Camaro. While installing the new a-arms and spindles I realized I had not made provisions for steering arms. From what I have read it appears the manual arms will work but are longer than the power arms. I also read where someone had a set of short, medium and longs. I would like to know what would work best, and where to get them. The car is getting an LS1/T56 and will be used for periodic autocrosses. Steering box is a GM 600 unit. I need a short education on these if anyone has the time...LOL.

Any help would be appreciated.

Jim

Click on this site below, David Pozzi has supplied all the info you will need here. I just switched my 70 Nova from manual to ps and ordered the same length pitman arm as the manual box had.

If you have any questions, David is the man on this subject.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply, coincidently I found that site shortly after the post. I have the pitman arm covered. What I am referring to is the three length options for the steering arms that attach to the spindle. My take is that the longer arms are for the non-power units and the short and medium are for the powered units. I ordered my front end components from Frank at Prodigy, and he hooked me up with the quick steer pitman, but I am not sure which outer steering arms will work best. Presently I intend on just removing the units from the old manual setup and use them for now. I just wanted some feedback on the options. I have been bugging Frank to death, just wanted to inquire before I bug him again....LOL
