No that car don't have a built thread, but the wheels are Rota RB-R 17x9 all around, awesome wheels for sure!

i got wheels here at home they look nice and strong, by the way their where cheap, 16x8 0 offset or 4" back space i cant wait to put them on with some 225 50 16 on the back and 215 50 16 up front.

This will be cool. Brings back memories of when I was racing a 1976 Cosmo with a 13B rotary. Made some good and bads mods with it. Was educational for a late teenager. I.E. ram air on a rotary can lead to the throttle sticking!

I check the 22R on my Celica and it has a unwanted window on the side (NOT GOOD) so i try to find some core to rebuilt around and the cheapest was around $500 and all of the ones i did find need to be rebuilt, so my last resource was a friend of mine in AL and asking him for a 22R he told me he got a JDM TA63 MOTOR and i was like yea right and i tough it was just a 3TC he said it was TWIN CAM and my hart almost jump out of my chest, and then he send me this picture, and with it a list of parts he got with the engine,

At the end i end up just trading the Engine for a 9" rear end housing with axles narrowed for a TE72 4TGTE ain't that SWEET AS HELL?

The funny thing is, took the car to get tires rotate the tires and balance at tire shop. A few days later one side of car cetera caps came of while on express way. Right now, I only have two. The paint in bad shape. But it drives great and it my daily driver.

I know car from Colorado and my dad got it from original owner.

I have at some point owned 5 different celicas, mainly ST185's...I had no idea the 4TGTE was available to the public. Thought it was just a race motor! Awsome catch, keep us posted.

4T-GTE

This is the version of the T family which powered Toyota's Group B and World Rally Championship cars. The homologation engine, introduced in November 1982, features a 0.5 mm increase in bore over the 3T, giving 1,791 cc.[4] With a multiplication factor of 1.4 for turbocharged engines, this equalled 2,507 cc in the eyes of the FIA, placing the Celica in the 2,501-3,000 cc class. The smaller 3T engine would have fit snugly under the 2.5-liter limit, but being in the larger class allowed Toyota to stretch the 4T-GT engine to 2,090 cc (89.0 x 84.0 mm for a converted displacement of 2,926 cc) which better suited the comparatively heavy Celica.[6]

In race trim it was a high-performance engine of 2,090 cc with either a Toyota or a KKK/K27 turbocharger, electronic fuel injection, and a twin-spark ignition system, producing 360 to 600 PS depending on race trim.[7] The 1984 Group B rally version produced 326 PS (240 kW) at 8,000 rpm.[6] The road going homologation version (4T-GTEU, 200 built) produces 180 PS (132 kW). The total build number, including modified versions, was 228.[8]

Ok this is weird this engine i got said 4TGTE in the head, and the block said 3T i know it is a turbo block cuz it is obvious, but what is very intriguing is the fact someone took it apart and they didn't find the oem pistons and install 3tc pistons on the gte rods, :roll: anyway i am still very happy with this find still awesome!

good thing is they didnt put it together, now is for me to fix someone else mess up, i will clean up all this very good and go with Wiseco pistons at 87mm, and ARP hardware, more updates soo now here are some pictures!

The difference on the block is that the 4T is .020" or .50mm over size piston bore,

These parts i get em from a guy named John in Alabama, he is Puerto Rican, he got it long time ago and didnt know what to do with this engine so when i was looking for a 22R he offered to me, so i buy it! :mrgreen:


Today i did took apart the head for cleaning and rebuild of it factory 280 cams on both sides intake and exhaust by stampings on them plus dual valve springs, awesome!

First i change wheels and here is how it looks.

Then Engine swap started RA64 to TA64, i cut the RA brackets from the X-member and clean em up and install the RA motor mounts to the 3T engine Brackets, and then bolt the cuted X-member brackets to the motor mounts, install the W58 trany/3t bellhousing combo on the factory trany mount,this is the easiest Swap i have ever done, just need to weld the 1/8' 4"x5" plate to the X-member and then the brackets to the plate, CHECK IT OUT !

Then last weekend i do built these short stroke coilover setup from scratch with some QA-1 parts i got an adjustable camber plates on top 350lbs. springs and some Tercel 3.25 " shorter stroke strut inserts, so i cut the threaded part of the strut where the gland nut secures the insert, and section the strut 3.25" and weld it back install the sleeves and put everything back together and it is just perfect, with the spring preloaded it sits so nice as you can see in the picture below, yeap no loose unsafe spring suspension here LOL.
