Ok....so is it an auction or a sale price or msrp or what?
I'm trying to figure this out...(little slow!). Lol
RideTech will put up a pair of SA coilovers for this project. Albert...you need to clarify if this is a sale or an auction, and exactly how to purchase, and exactly where the money is going, and who is administering it. I know you have those details, Also know you're on the road right now on the way back from Cali...

I will donate or buy. Let me know the details.

Albert is on the road and running on little sleep. I spoke to him on the phone a few minutes ago and here is how he says it goes.
Reply to this thread the amount you would like to donate for said item. The person with the highest bid or offer on December 22nd at 9am Pacific time wins the item and a family in need wins as well.
Shortly Albert will post the details on where to send the donation for the items after the close or if you would rather just make a donation he will post a paypal address up soon.

More details on the recipients please. During the process of continually educating our two teens this year on the true meaning of Christmas, we all agreed it would be cool to give outside of the family. (my kids are so awesome) We are far from wealthy, but live comfortably enough to have more wants than needs. Sadly, the same isn't true for MANY in our country these days. We will still have stocking stuffers to open on Christmas day for ourselves, but the point is to take part in fulfilling the purpose of the person for which we celebrate Christmas.
Anyway, we've been struggling with how best to determine who to help. With some details on the recipients, I could speak to my family and see what they think. It would be nice if you would give some sort of feedback once you've blessed this family, so people like me can show our kids the positive impact they had by being a part of this.
Sure wish there were some 2G TA/Firebird parts to bid on. ....hint hint Carbon Kustoms. :)

I have 4 kids and there's nothing cooler than seeing their faces on Christmas morning. I'd hate for any kid to miss out on that.
I would also like to donate something to be bid on- A lot of you guys have asked me about doing a project rendering, here's your chance to get one for a great deal. I normally charge $349 for a one view rendering, I'll do one for the highest bidder, no minimum bid. This can be either of a car that's being built or for one that's already done. For your bid you get an original rendering of your car printed on glossy photo paper mounted to a black 16x20" matte board ready for framing. This will also include design help and revisions for projects in the works.
To keep with the spirit of this event I want all the money to go to this family, so those of you who have already hired me cannot bid unless I'm doing a different rendering than what we're already working on.
For those not familiar with my work here's a link to a few samples...

I will donate 100 hours of engineering design time. It can be split up as needed, include the number of hours with the monetary bid amount. $100/hour is an average contract engineers wage.
I can design anything in CATIA (A CAD program) I can supply models and/or drawings. Files for CNC miles and lathes, steriolithograohy and water jets.. almost anything. I can design suspension components and design suspension system geometry. Let me know what you need and we can discuss the time required.
I dont need anything that is curretly up for auction so I will be donating directly unless something pops up.

I'd bid but you already volunteered on mine! LOL...
It's a great service but a tough deal because somebody has to have a project in mind already. Maybe narrow it down to suspension mapping, or chassis stiffness, etc. to give people a better idea what they'll get?

HAHA! true.
I was keeping it open ended so a small 1 hour CAD job or stress calculation could be done for a small bid of $20 or something; or a big full front suspension geometry could be done for a min of 40 hours.
I will add that I can turn any sketch into a CAD model and I can turn a CAD model into a 3D pdf so that you can look at it on any computer with adobe pdf reader (a free download).

Scott,
I would like to split this up as needed. I need to talk to Matt about how many hours he needs to do his project.
For example if Matt needs 50 hours then his bid would be for 50 hours and I would have another fifty up for bid.
But I will add some more hours right now... Scott call or email me and we can discuss the project and how many hours it will take.

Hey guys,Sorry for the delay on posting these families.I have been dealing with computer issues. The first Ohio family gracefully bowed out as they felt these other 2 families needed more help than they did.
I am very close to the Reno Family who started Annas Army after they lost there daughter, Anna,to raise awareness for Cystic Fibrosis. I know there are 2 families here one from Texas and one from California. I am by no means trying to push another family into this auction,Andi Reno thought she'd send me 2 families info and let me (us) decide which family we wanted to help. Bellow are the messages from Andi, myself and one of the families. Thank you everyone for all the help and generosity. Im am sure they will appreciate any and all help. As the Reno family tries to keep raising awareness for CF through annas army please lets get the word out on one of the most underfunded research groups out there. Annas-Army.com is there website which you can find out about the cause,Anna her self,as well as ways to help in the future. I know there is a ton of people and organizations this time of year trying to get funds for helping children. The Reno family and Annas Army are a part of my life and im just trying to help get the word out on there cause.
Andi Reno
Ok I am trying to figure out how to get their family pics to b added to this message but I think I am unable to do it:( I may just have to send them another way but I wanted to get you the letters about the familys, and a bit of why they need the help...
First family is the Gardner's, 5 kids one def has CF there are 2 others that r being treated as if they do because they fall in the gray shaded area of CF with the sweat tests they do.. Here is their story..
this is for the Gardner family,
5230 Rita Ave., Carmichael, CA 95608 is our address
Alexiia is almost 14 years old, Aryia my cfer is 11.5 years old., Ava (they think she may have cf too) is 7.5 years old, Allura (they also think she may have CF) is 5 in 2 weeks and the baby Aerison is a tank at 18 months old. :-)
Alexiia loves to shop and is really into brand name clothes such as ambercrombie, but of course doesn't get them except for when ppl give us hand me downs. She is a teen size 5. Aryia loves anything horses and is banking on getting her own horse for christmas from santa! lol. I have been trying to let her down gently.
Ava is not choosy and likes just about anything. Allura is into make believe and was in love with our play kitchen set but we had to sell it before. so anything make believe or princess! lol. Aerison is in desperate need of some toddler toys that aren't for girls. Poor kid, had to be born into an all girl family.

Hi Andi!
I had written to you a bit our back story but it didn't send and then I had to run off to work. Funny that you emailed me today of all days! Two years ago today, we boarded a plane and moved back to the mainland from Hawaii. We had nothing, literally spending all our money on the crate to ship our belongings back home. We didn't have enough money to ship our car back so my brother lovingly gave us his old minivan that was sitting unused in his side yard. Things were bleak.
It was not always like that. We used to own a very nice home and lived a very nice life. We never wanted for anything. We however, were desperate to 'stop' CF. We thought if we did everything right, we would stop it. I know you know how ridiculous that is, but we were naive. Aryia was diagnosed at 4 years old and by the time she was almost 7 we thought we had a handle on things. We packed our family up and moved to Hawaii. The salty, hot, humid air made Aryia feel fabulous and we felt like that was the key. Unfortunately, the health care there sucked and our home back on the mainland didn't sell, couple that with the cost of living there and the low wages we were in an awful situation. We soon had no other choice but to declare bankruptcy.
2.5 years later not only were we financially devastated, but my husbands job wasn't working out and I came up unexpectently pregnant with baby number 5. We felt like it would be unwise to have our baby in Hawaii due to the possibility of it having CF, knowing it might take a while for my husband to find a job we literally started to sell everything to get enough money to move back. My husband was unemployed for almost a full year. During that time, we applied and were granted full welfare benefits (so humbling). Our children had no winter clothes, nothing we took the emergency funds the state gave us and marched straight over to the 2nd hand store and bought some coats, jeans and long sleeve shirts. We also bought them second hand bikes. Aryia's health plummeted during that time, and we bounced between family members, even staying for a short period of time in an empty condo that our friends were trying to sell, sleeping on mattresses on the floor. Aryia had 3 hospital stays in a very short period of time. In fact one of them was when I was due with our baby, Aryia stayed for 15 days and got out the day before I delivered him (husband still unemployed).
However, now both my husband and I are employed. We are slowly getting ourselves out of debt and are no longer receiving cash aid or food stamps. What a journey! Our credit is still trashed, and one day we dream of owning a home again and having a savings account. Our children however are happy and loved and we have beds to sleep in and a roof over our heads and food in the refrigerator.
I wanted to tell you all this because 2 summers ago, I was feeling so low. It was when we were both still unemployed and I had just had the baby and Aryia was so sick and had just gotten out of the hospital and they had just done a bronch lavage on her and they told us she looked really bad. I was devastated. I happened upon your video of Anna very early in the morning. I wept and wept and wept. My husband woke up and asked me why I was crying and I had him watch the video. And he wept. We knew then that no matter our circumstances to just know how blessed we are to have our children to hold time is so short and you never know what tomorrow brings.
Your Anna had such a gigantic impact on the world and the work you are doing with Anna's Army is such a HUGE blessing to the Cystic Fibrosis community. If there is ever anything we can do from here please let me know.
God Bless you!
-Beth

Ok here is the second family,I haven't gotten a letter yet from them but they were referred to us by some friends of theirs.
Yes!! One of our admins on the board has been going through some VERY hard financial times... they've had their electricity shut off a few times, had water shut off once... they are really struggling...
Ben and Cassie Medina

Aiden is 5 yrs old and he likes boy stuff... Remote Control Cars, Legos, Superheroes, that kind of stuff...
Isabelle is 4 years old and likes baby dolls, dress up clothes, anything to do with ballet, barbies, her favorite color is pink.
Brooklyn is 2 years old and likes baby dolls, and anything pretty and girly.
They are a wonderful family... she has become a dear friend to me... if I had the ability I'd send them presents for the kids myself! I know that they really won't have much of anything this year... so this would be an amazing blessing to them!!!
I will need your email address to b able to send the pics for these 2 families.. Ive been trying to send with these letters but they will not attach:(
I hope this is all you r needing, I will forward a family letter to you from the Medina's when I get it, and i will also send you the Gardner's address too.
Thnx for helping us help these CF families.. Times r hard enough dealing with the disease, but you put a holiday on top of that, and well it's just not fun!!!

Well, we started this thread to help out the one family for christmas so I hate to change up. Plus, and this is just my opinion, I love helping families at Christmas time, Melinda and I have done it for years. This is something that we see instant results from and it really makes a difference to that family or families that day. Sometimes foundations are a bit slower to the help and have their own methods of helping. Nothing wrong with that, but I think for this fundraiser, as a community, we should just do the Christmas giving. Maybe down the road, look at helping the foundation.
Maybe this could be another Rat Pack project for 2012?

Well gang the auctioned items and donations were a tremendous success,,,, Congratulations to a community at large that I like to consider extended family so to speak.
This effort was born in concept by Greg Tholen, Bill Goldberg, and myself over a breakfast at Bill's house (great breakfast BTW Bill thanks) and quickly adopted by the RatPack and Pro-touring community at large.... It never ceases to amaze me how awesome the companies that support us are and people of this board truly are!!!! In ten short days we have as a community raised approximately $5,000 to make a material difference for ,,,not one, but three families in total.....
The first family stated that felt they were fine and passed along these three families,,,,,, can you imagine being down and passing along the hand of a gift to others??? Frankly it blew me away and I think they are truly amazing people....
The sponsors of product and straight cash donations,,,, You are amazing too!!!!! Thanks you Very Very much!!!!
To Larry and the whole community, you allowed these families to have a Christmas that would otherwise been very bleak!!!! You are front line hero's as a community and we can't thank you enough for stepping up and making a difference,,, you all need to be very proud of your selves,,, I know I am to call you friends.....
Now to provide details of how we are getting things done....
1- We will be sending a Christmas Ham/Turkey dinner out to the families....
2- We are talking to the local "Toys are Us" stores and trying to get gifts and a Tree for each house hold for Christmas....
Bill has asked that people sending funds to his pay pal do so a gift so fees don't' get taken off the funds from Pay Pal....
I will use my Visa to bridge this/ or make this all happen on the sort term until the funds are collected in order to get things done before Christmas....
Merry Christmas all and thank very much again...

Providing product was the easy part...Albert, Bill, Greg, and Goldberg are doing the hard part...all the legwork to get, and keep this rolling. Thanks guys for the opportunity to offer some help. It has helped my family remain aware of how blessed we continue to be.

Guys, as always when we do something like this, I am just overwhelmed at the outpouring of support you all show.
One thing, if you are sending payment to me via paypal, please let me know if it is simply a donation or payment for one of the auction items. I will get a total together and let everyone know where we are. At this point, I think we will be over our estimated $5000. If so, there is one other family that is actually tied to a member here and we will send any left over money to them. They have a one month old child that they found out last week has CF.
Not one dime of donated money goes unused so we really appreciate the generosity shown from the Protouring family everytime something like this comes up.
Thanks again guys.

Man, what a great opportunity to serve our fellow man and to make some kids' wishes a reality! How refreshing it is to be a small part of this forum where people are such genuinely good folks. I am happy to be a part of the give a Christmas effort and will continue to offer the renderings as you do this in the future.

Quick Note here guys.
If you bid and won
1. Be sure and pay through PP or pm me for addy if sending a check, MO, etc
2. Simply pm the vendor of the prize you won. If no response in a couple days, REMEMBER, this is the holiday season and some folks take off the whole week, then pm me and I will get in touch with the proper person.
THanks again for the outpouring of support and concern for the needy. I know we made Christmas happen for three families that would not have had one without our support.
