1969 camaro, The Other Woman!

Purchased 69 camaro in 07 from classmate that purchased the car in 94, He drove it for a couple of summers and the car sat from probably 97 to 07. I Had purchased a wrecked dodge viper a few months before and rebuilt and after driving it I thought man how cool would it be if you had the newer drivetrain in the older car, Then I remember street machine of the year 08 on the cover of camaro performers the red and white 69 camaro, Scott Gulbranson's and thinking that is the way to go, I dissasembled the car with the help of my wife and started ordering parts, that was 3 years ago, Since then I have replaced trunk floor, qtrs, rear panel, lower back window panel, inner and outer wheel tubs, door skins, and the latest wa s installing art morrison rear clip, I am now almost to the point to do the final bodywork. It will be mainly door edges and around the trunk trying to make stuff fit like it should. I am planning on installing ls3 with magnuson supercharger and a t56 trans. I also have to purchase wheels, brakes, rear center section, wiring and gauges, I plan to have the car assembled this summer and in primer maybe paint depends how much time I can spend with her, the other woman. I have a friend that told my wife that he must be going over to the shop early to meet another woman, she's a beauty!

Before I started on my dad's '69 Firebird, I would've said..."Geeze, that's all you got done in 3 years??" But now that I've started doing the metal work on it, I FULLY understand the time process that can go into these jobs now! I worked on it for 4 1/2 months this summer, and I didn't get nearly done what I thought I could. lol

Josh, I haven't worked on it steady for 3 years, I took the week of thanksgiving off and the pic you see with the floor cut out, I replaced it and welded the frame in and rear panel that week. I actually get a lot done when I work on the car. I hope to be selling my Snap On Tools Franchise in the next few months then I will be able to work on the car more, yes very labor intensive work and almost frustrating seems that you work and work and hard to see a difference in the car. I know when I get some primer sprayed and start blocking it will go a little faster. I will check out your pics. I screw off a lot in the summer lake, car shows and such so not much gets done.

I understand ya there! I'm a body man, so most days the last thing I want to do is come home and work on that car after already doing it for 8 hours a day. It just seems like every task takes 4 times as long as it should because the parts take that long to fit! Now my wife and I are expecting our 1st child in June, so I really don't know how much I'll be able to get done next season.
