My name is Ryan and I'm from Pensacola, FL. I bought my '69 Hugger Orange Camaro that has a built 350/TH350 about a month ago and I'm in the process of turning it into a Pro-Touring car. It's a pretty clean car that doesn't have any rust on it. The paint job is a 5ft paint job, a good driver. It was originally a 6-cylinder car that was gold.

I already have my current motor and tranny sold. A '99 LS1 is sitting in my good friends garage with a 4L60E that will go in my car in the next month or so. I have recently installed Hotchkis Rear Leaf Springs, Hotchkis Front Sway Bar, Hotchkis Front springs (1.5" drop), '00 Z28 leather seats w/ power driver, and Morris' three pt. seat bealts.

I have ordered my Holley LS Swap oil pan, Vintage Air w/Kwik bracket, and Dirty Dingo motor mount plates. I still have some more parts to decide on and purchase but I'm well on my way to having a really sweet Pro-Touring Car. This forum has been a good place for me to gain some knowledge and I hope to meet some of you in the future enjoying our cars!

Nice car, Welcome to the board! I know Scott also, used to live in Crestview and hope to be back in about 18 months. Trying to be in town in Feb, will have to meet up with you.

Thanks guys. And Scott, I'm being modest as there are some minor blemishes and it's not nearly the quality of your paint. LOL. The front springs are going in Saturday along with some Morgan and Cokes! Chris, for sure we should get some cars together when you are in town.

Welcome, nice ride, what size wheels and tires are those? I'm still trying to decide what size to put on my 69 Camaro?

Ryan – Welcome to the forum! Nice colors on the ’69! Looks like you’ve got a fun project going. Thanks for choosing Hotchkis suspension for such a nice ride. Hopefully you’ll have the LS swap done by the Spring. ;)

Thanks for the comments guys. We are planning to start the swap between Christmas and NYE! Todd, the wheels are 17x8 with 245/40's all the way around. I am gonna get 9.5's for the rear with 275/40 NT-05's soon. The current rim and tire on the rear are a little small, imo. Just got the front springs installed last weekend and am happy with the Hotchkis pieces I have added to the car!

Welcome aboard! Glad to know there are at least two people on this board in Pensacola. I plan to be living in the area by this summer. We'll have to get together.

Thanks, car looks Sweet. I am struggling between 17's and 18's. I am going with 245's in the front and 275's in the rear, just not sure on rim size. Todd

That's a good looking car you got there...

Yeah, tough decision. How much is the difference in tire cost? I would think the 18's would be a good bit more expensive... would look killer though! Thanks dirtshark. Is that your car in avatar?

Ryan – We’re glad that you’re happy with the new springs. Good luck with the swap over the Christmas break. Are you going to try to get it done that week, or just start the swap? It could be done…if you had all the necessary parts on hand and were extremely determined. ;)

Yeeeaahhh.. Just gonna get it started. LOL. Hopefully the dipstick and tube for my Holley oil pan will ship out on the 30th like their Summit's site says. Still have to get headers and fuel pressure reg/filter. Gonna take us three or four weekends I think.

Car is finally done! First two LS1's failed and third has been a charm. Just drove it home from my friends garage where the build took place on Saturday. Headed to Run Thru The Hills in Pigeon Forge in September. Herb, have you moved to this area yet?

Ryan, glad to hear you got going. Scott told me about the first engine but that really stinks about having to go through another 2 LOL. Post up some pics!

Yeah Chris... The second motor got us to the gas station and about half way back to Scott's, then came a god-awful internal knocking noise after I went about half throttle. Not good, but we had that motor out and broken down to the block in about two hours with the help of some Captain Morgan. LOL. Car is awesome now. Just have to get the exhaust welded and the o2 sensors moved. Click this link below for a couple new pics. Will get some better motor pics up soon.
