Since I canīt call Speed Techīs office now (itīs sunday) I just want to check if there is some one here who could help me.
I just recived my AFX spindels for my Firebird -68 but there is one thing that concerns me.
On the tapper hole for the lower ball joint there is a steel insert but there is no on the hole for the upper ball joint. Is this correct?

They offer the spindle for both lower ball joint styles (OE style or B-Body) so the lower has different inserts that are interchangeable to accomodate this. If I remember correctly the upper ball joints use the same taper regardless so there would be no reason for an insert in that location...

That is just a small redesign, to eliminate the press in upper adaptor, this is the same way GM does the Corvette spindle.

Was there a back order on these spindles or did you receive them quickly after your ordered them. Thanks

I was lucky, I got the last one of the november batch (2 weeks to Sweden). They will produce a new batch after the new year.

Yep more on their way Forging is processing the order now, so it takes time to hammer out 3000 lbs of aluminum.

do you have a set on order? i know we have a couple orders waiting for steering arms???
which "Should" be finished next week?? the 7075 material has been a bit tought to get consistantly, this is what the machinist is telling me. the arms are machined in Pahrump not by us.
let me know

No I don't have any on order yet. I'm just planning things out on my car and was wondering if they were hard to come by. From what I had read they were difficult to get in the past. Thanks

We have had a pretty good supply over the last 2 years.
We have also decided to UPGRADE the spindles strength on this next production run that is happening now, the new spindles will be the Strongest on the market (from what i can see) they will be impact Forged from 7075 Aluminum and we are also looking into a different heat treatment as well as Cryogenic treatment this will increase the strength by approximatly 25%
Also ZR1 hubs will be an option. for those who want to have the ultimate set up. there will be nothing on the market that will be even close.
