At least he says..

". Please do not use for fraudulent purposes. It makes a great addition to fool your friends or a show judge, but if you try to sell a car thats not a Z using this, bad voodoo will descend upon you, and zombies don't get the girls."

what a ****.. he KNOWS that it will be used to defraud.. this is why I can't get into rare cars for myself.. I just know it is gonna be some sort of fake..

Crappy people do crappy things..

What a load of crap. He knows exactly what the tag will be used for. This is why I bought a plane jane Camaro, it is just to easy to get taken.

I think it should be illegal to sell a '69 Camaro for over 100k.

this place has been around for a while....
www.trimtags.com

they can make any car you want, any car you want....and they have rivets too...

quote from their about us page..

"Note: We don't have a problem changing paint codes, trim codes, convertible/vinyl top color codes, or option codes. We will not change "STYLE" numbers (i.e. convert Tempests into GTO's, Cutlass' into 442's, six cylinder cars into eight cylinder cars)."

if you tell them you have a gto, how can they prove you dont if your trim tag is "missing"?

duplicate trim tag should be only used for *replacement* purposes

Agreed. The trim tag is the trim tag and shouldn't be changed to meet your current taste in color, interior, etc. It is like trying to go back in time and change the way the cars were built back then (just w/o the time machine).

Either way someone is going to get burned bad on a deal cause this will make it easier to clone cars that never existed

i know with mustangs you can order reproduction "warranty plates", which i guess is kind of similar to the trim tag and you can get them with different interior codes, paint codes etc. but the VIN does not change, you have to send them a rubbing of the VIN in order to get one.

on some cars i wouldn't see a problem with it. take my car for instance it was originally Lime Gold with black vinyl top, and Ivy Gold standard interior, it's now Acapulco Blue with black vinyl top and Black Deluxe interior. i wouldn't replace the factory warranty plate on my car because it is a factory GT and i don't want anyone to think i'm trying to pass it off as something it's not so the original tag stays, also it's not a show car and never will be so i really don't care anyway. i

f my car had been a plain jane car however i might think about ordering a repro tag that gives the "new" color and interior codes, however on fords you can still tell what the car originally came equipped with by ordering a report from ford or from marti autoworks. and the VIN still does not change so you can't change any pertinent info for the car like engine size, body style etc. basically my point is if you order a new tag for a ford you can make the tag reflect anything like paint or interior codes so the tag will match what the car is now but you can't change any of the really important VIN info so you can't really make a FAKE car.
not sure if GM's are the same way or not, though.
