I'm coming into winter and the car is looking at some extended down time.

I have some shock towers that I want to smooth the seams in for an engine bay smoothing project. I figure I'll tack the layers of the shock tower together and then use eastwoods lead free solder to smooth the seams I weld, followed by a very light coating of plastic filler.

The suspension is a SLA design and it's all mounted via spherical bushings and is in very close proximity to headers (a few inches away). So the towers and surrounding metal sees a significant amount of stress, heat and vibration. Experience has shown that plastic filler are lacking in this application. Will this have favorable results?

Would anyone like to share any advice or experience?
This seems like the best way, but not the easiest... and I'm fine with that. Superior methods are very welcome.

We use the stuff all the time, should work in that application. I would make sure they are welded solid before the body solder to minimize flexing and potential cracks.

You can see the kit in action at the end of this quarter panel install. The trick is to make sure the panel is clean and hot before applying the solder. Practice on some scrap first, and order extra solder sticks to get the hang of it.
