It looks like everyone was about tripping over themselves to get out of the way when they saw you coming. lol

How much faster than the rest of the group were you?

there was a range of lap times. I wasn't the fastest in this group. there were some porsche's and vettes and a 370z that were faster. I spent the first 3 sessions pointing almost everyone by while I was feeling out the car. this was the 5th session and the first session where I was catching and passing a lot of cars...

Super congratulations Asif! It sounds mean and it looks fast right out of the gate. Can't wait to see this in person, keep us posted on your next track days and races.

Very cool Asif! Looks like the car did great for the first time out, can't wait to see more. And if you have any track days closer down my way, I might have to go check it out.

Thanks,
Jon

Awesome. And Congrats! Car looks and sounds wicked! Looks like a successful shakedown day... any issues or tweaks to report?

thanks Steven. and Jon I'll definitely let you know if I run buttonwillow or further south.

yes, there are a number of things to address. it was a cold day (50s) and the car ran too cool. I'm considering removing the oil cooler to see what that does. also, I can't heel/toe with the way the accel. pedal is right now. the driveshaft was rubbing the safety loop and a lot of oil is winding up on top of the intake manifold (we *think* it's getting pushed out of the valve cover breathers). there's some other odds and ends. all the gory details are on my blog asifnyc.com (http://asifnyc.com/?p=1211)

What about just covering your oil cooler in these temps? Maybe do the trick, and you'll want it probably at Buttonwillow or Thunderhill in summer.

Checked out your blog. Very cool. The RSS feed would not let me subscribe though. FYI

And if you are looking for a track day in January a few of us should be at Thunderhill on Jan 23 with NCRC if you are interested.

Also.. that exhaust sounds tasty... do you think those "95 db mufflers" by Schoenfeld are really close to 95 db?

yes, I'm definitely considering the 1/23 NCRC date. however, I don't want to run in the rain. I'll race in the rain eventually if needed but I'm still sorting out the car and don't feel I'd learn much from a wet track yet. so, I guess I'll wait and see and hope the weather is good.

I see the RSS feed is broken. I'll try and figure out how to fix it...

On the mufflers... I was not black flagged at Infineon (even though the pit out guy said I was "loud"). Infineon is a 103db track I believe...

Cool man. There is also a thread on Lat G about getting a bunch of muscle together for some trackdays in 2012 at Thunderhill and/or Buttonwillow if you're interested in following.

the IFS is by a company called Control Freak Suspensions (http://www.freakride.com/2011_amc_suspension.pdf). there's more info on my blog asifnyc.com (http://asifnyc.com). when are you going to share details on your AMC project?
