I'm going out Friday to look at a first gen camaro and a 69 gto. I'm wondering where to look at the problem areas are far as rust. Floor pans, rear quarters, trunk floor? Any where else? Never had one and price sounds to good to be true. So as we know that prob means it is. Than you for the help.

Window channels, top of dash, rockers, rear frame rails on Camaro, inner and outer wheel housings, rear deck filler panel, tail panel, bottoms of door shells and fenders, lower quarters (front and rear), firewall and cowl. Just about every square inch of the car....

You sound like you have it pretty covered, check lower rockers front and back as well. Find out if was a vynal top or not, look at the areas around windshield and rear window. LOL...see if he would be willing to let you remove the cowl...not likely...but Im sure you get the picture, upper rear shocks mounting points in the trunk. Sometimes when people beat on the car, these mounting points begin to tear or rip......take you time...if its not this one..guess what youll find another one even better.

below the rear window moldings, and if the car is primered or painted take a small magnet and check the problem areas,
Good luck,

Thanks guys. I was planning on taking a magnet with me. So if the body is solid is it worth 3 grand? I never messed with these cars and don't know what they go for. No motor or tranny and has clean title.

Do you have any pics? I would say if the body looks good and no significant rust it would be a good buy.
