I replaced my boot since the old one was literally shredded to pieces. Can someone tell me what size screw or bolt holds this thing onto the firewall? I see 2 holes there, but there were no screws there before.
BTW it's a 69 Firebird.
there a standard #8 screw Philips head, use stainless so they don't rust, and trim the boot opening so the clutch rod just slides loosely thru the boot opening and it wont shred again (non of the repo one last longer than a month if it is tight on the rod)

Good information on triming the boot. Wish I knew this sooner...wouldn't have gone through so many boots. Thanks Rod.
