I just put the SS bolts from Prodigy Customs in my drivers door and fender. Very nice.

I got the door aligned, a little high as it's bare no glass, and it's easier to drop it down a tick.

However, even though I have the fender door gap even and the door is stable the section from the middle body line to the top of the door comes really close to the fender. I mean really close. It was chipped before from getting pushed in the shop without the fender being tight, but I don't want to make it worse.

I had taken the door off to get the bolts replaced and put it all back together.

That's the only spot, the middle body line has plenty of clearence.

It opens fine, without hitting but it's close, I'd like a little more room.

Thanks!

Take the fender bolts loose at the bolt to the firewall behind the hood hing, the Bolt on the top of the fender at the cowl, and the door jam bolt up top. Try to shim under the firewall bolt behind the hood hinge to bring it all forward a tick. It may take a strong friend pulling the front clip while you slip a thin shim in.
Also, the weight of your glass, door guts, trim panel, etc. may drop the door enough. If not, just open it 6 inches and lean on it a bit. This actually will remove any tension slack in the door anyway.

I have one of the thick shims in the firewall spot, but maybe another.

Looking at it again, the door is very close to on. Closes really nice so that should be good, at least till I add parts...

So much fun, yet so much work...

Thanks, and very nice kit!

It is very nice, I'm trying to see if it has the fender support bolts in it. Can't seem to find them.

Anyhow, the brushed look is better with me as my car is a real dark blue so it goes well.

Which fender support bolts?

The cross bars? that go from the core support to the fender. Can't remember the name...

Now I got some room, but there's a large gap between the top of the fender and the door, larger than the verticle one.

On the passenger side, the gap is about even along the top and down the side, though I haven't checked it closely. Haven't got to that side yet.

The cowl panel is a really tight fit...

Boy, I'm glad this is a hobby. Though if I did it full time, I might have a better idea, it'd probably be no less frustration.

They are in the core support bag, 5/16 X 3/4.

For your upper gap, that liitle 3" section I assume you are refering, you can try removing a shim from the rear fender bolt going into the top of the cowl. This will twist the fender down a bit and ay tighten that upper gap.

Alingment is real tricky. I think I may do a little tech feature and see if Larry will post it somewhere.

I thought that was them. Only have one side put together so I'm trying to make sure I don't use a wrong bolt.

That's the spot. I'll try removing the shim but I only have two thick ones in there, so we'll see.

I think the alignment was the least favorite part of body shop.
