like the title, has anyone built a pro touring tri five? I think it would be pretty awesome.

Slowly converting my fathers car...
T56, Custom C5 front brakes, LS1 rear brakes on a Moser 12 bolt, Hotchkis HPS 1000 shocks, and a quick ratio power steering box. Still needs some bigger swaybars and a bit more power but its a fun car to drive :6gears:

We have 2 tri-fives in our stables that are Pro-Touring based. Our 55 is more of a race setup then our wagon but both run C-4 Corvette independent suspension. The 55 has a LS-3 with a hot cam and the wagon has a LT-1 both run a T-56 6 speed.

We also make chassis for the Tri-Fives Newman Car Creations. (http://www.newmancarcreations.com/55-57-chevy/)

The build on the 55 is here (http://www.newmancarcreations.com/driving-fun/ncc-55-chevy-project-car.php)

Chris – That’s a great looking ’55! Thanks for choosing Hotchkis (http://www.hotchkis.net) products for your dad’s car. :) Keep us in mind when you’re looking to upgrade the sway bars for further handling improvement.

Kyle, I was at work today and thought about this thread and your 57. One of the coolest wagons on the planet, how could I forget, sorry!
Love the 55 too. Both are understated to look at but prove they are the real deal once you make a lap in them, just the way I like it.

Kyle,

Its fun to see that '55 thrashed hard like you do.

Sounds great too.

We have a lot of Tri5 chassis out there now and a lot of our customers are going this route. LS7's and even a handfull of LS9's. Red Line Oil built a 57 with a TT LSX that made 1598hp at the flywheel. JF had his 57 at Optima this year and finished 17th IIRC. We also have a customer that finished in the top spot for his class in ISCA points this year and also auto-x's his car - was the silver 55 at Columbus that finished 2nd in time for SMOY autox comp. We also did a 55 chassis for guys that are going to run 1Lap in 2012 - power is going to be an LS9 making 925 at the flywheel - can't say much more than that right now, but this car is going to get a lot of people's attention.

So yes, there are guys building PT Tri5's.

ditto here. Used hotchkis on my friends 72 Chevelle, never thought that boat would handle so well.
I recomend doing as much as possble. Sway bars, control arms, springs, and good shocks.

Rouse, i love your dads 55'

I helped my buddy build this car. It's got Heidts front, Wilwood brakes, Moser rear, GMPP ZZ383, and Intro wheels.

Unfortunately, he has decided to sell and move on to another project and I have it listed on ebay for him now.

We recently built radiators for two customers with tri-5's that were building PT cars, but haven't seen pics of them yet.

55's with the yellow / white scheme are complete art, and yours is no exception. I could just sit and stare at that car for hours from any angle.

I haven't ever posted my project that I have building for the past couple years but figured it's about time. Here is my 1956 150 Wagon. Newman Car Creations C4 chassis, LS7, T56, Z06 brakes, CCW wheels and Nitto NT05's. Getting it tuned up for another trip to RTTC next weekend. Did pretty well last year on it's first time out.

There is just something incredibly cool and subdued about wagons, especially when they are set up for PT duty. Thumbs up!
