i want to remove the gill from my 69 camaro

I was thinking of cutting out the gills on the rear quarters on my 69 camaro and opening them up. Iv seen pictures of cars with that done on this site does anyone have pics on how they did it. and when they where done did you make them operational vents to cool the rear brakes. thanks
