Up and close NASCAR experience!

Got the chance to go to the races this weekend and participate in driver introductions. I got to drive Texas Motor Speedway with a driver standing in the convertable Camaro while I drove him on a lap.

The General got me a "VIP Experience" where I got to hang out in the pits for a few hours before the race and got to see all the drivers pull out and warm up.

Got a quick video of their warm ups from about 3 feet away before I got told to move (I safely had a concrete wall between me and the cars) If you watch closely, you can kind of see two cars fly by.

I used to watch NASCAR all the time before Dale died, but since then I haven't really had much
interest in it...however, two things came to mind:

1. Standing 3 feet away from 200 miles an hour really lets you experience just how FAST 200 miles an hour is!
2. Holly %&$^ are these things loud!

Very cool!.....those things are LOUD!!!.....Ive been to many Formula One races, Indy car, air shows, you name it and the loudest of them all was the Nascar race at Richmond...wow!....truth be known my favorite is their idle (like in your vid where they are pulling out to the grid) ....recordings dont do them justice.....flat out nastiest gas engine on the planet no question

I hear you on how loud. I had the fortune to be in Dale Sr.'s pit for the first Vegas race. Much fun that was.

yours? very cool! Im building a pre COT (check sig) what year is the car? is it easy to tell when your approaching the limit? do you run radials??
