DSE mini tubs

I have a 68 camaro and i am ready to buy the ride tech 4 link with their new coil overs and i need to buy some deep wheel tubs.

So the question is, are there cheaper wheel tubs to buy than the DSE mini tubs?
pros and cons of the DSE tubs would be great

Not that I'm aware of. They are well made and worth it in my opinion. They fit in my '67 perfectly. You could always make your own if you're good working metal. Sometimes the hassle isn't worth it, IMO.

Keep in mind the gas tank may need to be modified. I have not done this yet but I was told my "Ricks" tank would need to be reworked if I do the mini tubs. Just an FYI

Only if your staying with leafs does the tank need narrowed. otherwise it just needs the corners notched

Summit sells deep tubs, I think they are made by OER. It's not a complete kit like DSE but it is much cheaper.

I did mine myself, and used the existing factory tub with a 3" wide strip of sheetmetal over the top of the tub to space it inward. If I remember right, it made just under 3" of extra space on each side. Zero cost.
(this was before the aftermarket tubs were available) I believe the gas tank mod is to make room for the shocks behind the rear axle. I put them in front of the axle and ran the stock tank.

I've done two first gen Nova's with the DSE mini tube's,... very well made and fit really nice.

FYI - the DSE tubs are 2.75" wider than stock. Your gas tank mods will depend on your rear suspension choice. I didn't think the Ridetech 4-link needed any gas tank mods on the 48 hour Camaro. But the tank notches Mike states above may be for exhaust routing. As with all their stuff - the DSE parts are very nice, but a little pricey IMO.

Got a question to anyone that has paid a shop to do there Mini-tub.. I have a 67 Camaro that I would like to do a DSE Minitub with Ridetech Airbar with Coil-overs. First off the car has zero rust and is in awesome condition, so no surprises with fab work. I am starting to get some quotes. The install of the ridetech stuff is pretty straight forward. The labor for the Minitub,rear seat rework because of the tub, prep/paint of trunk underside is close to $5 grand (60 hours of labor)?? Then they want another $1k to shorten my rear end...This seem like a crap load of money to gain another 2 inches of tire width? Am i off base here? I would love to hear from any one having any experience doing these and what it really should take in labor hours/cost for a shop that has done these.

I have used both the DSE and an after market company. DSE makes a nice inner but pricey IMO. The aftermarker ones I used I bought from Ground Up they also sell them with the Inner/Outer pre assembled. I used the pre-assembled because I was doing quarters at the same time so it was easier and the fit was pretty good.

look for them on the resale market.. save a few bucks but i recommend using them unless you like spending a lot of extra time to get something 1/2 as nice... I bought mine from here for 100.0 off retail... Very happy I did...

Thanks guys I bought the dse tubs at the RTTC 2 weeks ago and didn't have to pay for shipping or tax so I got a good deal there :) and i started this weekend and so far everything is going great! Dse puts together a great package with the movie directions and templates. And once i'm done with the tubs and 4 link i'll put up my first build thread :)
